should i sell 3GS
Okay so I just got a new iphone 3GS replacement for my old one last week. Got an offer to sell it for 400. should I go ahead and do it and rough it out without an iphone for a few weeks? I know the price for 3GS will go down as soon as iphone 4 is announced. I am eligible to upgrade now.

Apple and almost every other retailer in the US has blackout dates for certain launches or seasons. Its called being employed.

I definitely don't think it will be released on the 7th unless it is released at AT&T stores only. I would think Apple wants people to do pre-orders like last year for the iPhone and this year for the iPad. However, with the possibilities (rumors) of so many things happening with other carriers who knows how it will all shake out.
From a business perspective Apple has already made decisions that seem odd so it could continue on the 7th.

Word of advice: Buy the phone ONLINE. Prevents waiting in lines. Unless you like that kind of thing.

We know what the iPhone 4 looks like. We know what hardware features it has. We know (most of) what iPhone OS 4 has.
I would expect an iPhone-related surprise or two, especially after those emails from Jobs about Google and Android. But really, even if there's nothing but what we already know, that can hardly be considered a letdown.

I'm hoping this is the year Apple goes back to releasing not recycling! I just ordered a new 13" Macbook Pro to go along with my iPad and after that I have no real need for anything else Apple.
This is exciting! but what about internationally e.g. the UK. Is it likely to be available on the same day?? I hope so. I'll be really annoyed especially we haven't even got the iPad yet in the stores!.....
I hope it's worldwide! Can't wait for the next iPhone. My iPhone 3G is not to my satisfaction anymore 😛
I'm contemplating putting my 3g phone up for sale next week before the used market gets saturated with them, but then I'd have to go without for a week (or longer).

The Gizmodo leak aside, theres ALWAYS room for rampant speculation. Jobs will introduce it with Oh, and just one more thing, which probably wont surprise most of you.... Changes post-leak made just to dis Gizmodo (the new iPhone is ... a floating transparent sphere!). Back panel is really a solar charger! Resolution isnt just good, its 1080p! Second front-facing camera adds video chat in 3D! Its exclusive to T-Mobile! It shaves cats!
That's not true at all. I would love an iPhone, I didn't want the previous 3 as they didn't have the features that appealed to me at the time and I wanted to hold out as long as I could. I am a student with a cheap phone plan but I would be getting a slightly more expensive plan with the iPhone and have given up on my other PoS phone.
Plus I am excited about buying my FIRST iPhone enough to line up for one...

Huh?! It's not the first generation... it's the fourth.
My upgrade window was also moved up from November to June. However, I'm thinking of buying it outright without the subsidy. Guess the actual date of release will factor into that decision.

Sales will decide that, I'll decide what to buy after I know the specifics of the new iPhone, if I don't like it, I'll look around.

i'm thinking within a week. Giving people time to fester and get some $.. to buy. Apple loves giving people that "I can't wait" feeling. a released today wouldn't work.
I think you hit it right on the nose, I can't see it coming anytime before June 21, considering you would be shutting all those iPhone 3GS users from getting it on day one. I think Apple would want those loyal users to be able to get it right away, and thus, it will be released either June 21, or a few days after that. At least that is what all signs point to.

Manhattan is wonderful. I just spent a week on a business trip in Manhattan. Was clean, safe, and marvelous. Hope to move to the Upper West or SoHo area within the next few years.

Well my trip to NYC is to the Bronx to go see New Yankee Stadium for the first time( and see the remains of the freshly demolished Old Yankee Stadium 🙁 ). 🙂
And the Bronx isn't the most safest locations......
