Carrier AT&T Store iPhone 7 launch info

So currently number 1 in line at my local ATT store in a small town in East Texas.
Manager came out and talked to me and ask exactly which phone I'm looking for. I told him black 7 plus 128gb.
He double checked and came back and said unfortunately that and jet black are the only color pluses they don't have. They have 20 other pluses in other colors, along with one jet black 7 128gb, a few matte black 7's and a scattering of the rest. I asked if I should try the other att store and he said he heard they were the only store in the town that received pluses.
Don't know what to do at this point, might just go for a 7 in jet black. Anyone think I should try the other store?

So I know two of my local AT&T stores have Plus's but I don't want to wait all night to find out they only have rose gold and gold Plus's

You could always buy that 7 JB and sell it for a profit.

I can't believe anyone would wait all night only to settle for something other than what they want. Go home, preorder the one you want and go to bed. You'll have it in a month or less. Then you will have thrill of the new shiny device and everyone that gets one tomorrow will be over it.

I asked if I were first in line, would it be likely that I would be able to purchase a plus (didn't specify size or color), and was told "Absolutely not, sorry man."

I don't think they are downplaying anything.

Already have a jet black plus on pre order for October delivery. I was never sure if I wanted the plus so I guess now's the time to decide.
 
Oh okay thanks! Man idk which to try then. Apple or ATT? I mean both have like 1% chance of selling having them so....
 
Just called ATT store here. "We have not unloaded our boxes yet, but we have some Pluses." No details on colors or storage.

I'll just wait until 10/4 - 10/10 pre order.
 
"Many stores did not receive much quantity for the first batch. Store employees are not happy because they have sales metrics they need to meet per month (If you don't meet them, disciplinary action can occur if you do not meet your numbers every month)."

Did not know this!

Working the stores is rougher than I thought.
 
I called two AT&T stores in my area. One of them said they probably weren't getting any Plus models in. The second one said basically the same thing but they didn't know what they were getting.

Not sure what to do. Should I take the chance and get in line at 4am?
 
Just called over 6 AT&T stores here in NJ. All of them said they have NO iPhone+ available.... :( Only ONE store said they have one 32gb Black Plus.... Fml... Do I camp at the local apple store (prob people camping out right now) or wait for my Oct pre order? I know Apple has the best chance for walk ins but it's just so risky to waste my time.. I have multiple friends that work at the local Apple store and still can't get any help hahah Qhshfocnakdbejak IDK !!

Im in the same situation.. I will be highly upset seeing people walk out with the phone and I wasted 6 hrs of my life for nothing... Ugh

I was hardly speaking in absolutes. I would suspect the majority of corporate stores will have some stock tomorrow.
 
I checked a few AT&T stores in San Antonio and they all said basically the same thing: more 7s than 7+s, no black models of any kind. Only one said they had any 256GB models. I decided to just preorder from Apple and stop thinking about launch day.

The store I work at said that we didn't get any Pluses at all.

Good thing I did my pre-order with Apple online. Not willing to do any of this wait in line stuff.

No. Apple made an official announcement that zero 7+ devices are available to buy via walk in.

If the forum here is any indication, it appears you have it backwards. A ton more stories about no stock than some stock.
 
Hope there are more success stories than sad stories tomorrow morning.

Planning on heading out about 3-4a and getting in line. Bringing some schoolwork, a blanket, and some snacks.

First (and probably last) time sitting outside the store on a launch day.

Kicking myself for not placing a pre order in time. Put in a pre order with Target (no credit card required!) just now for a rose gold. We'll see what happens first...lol
 
I preordered but my order got cancelled because the computer allegedly could not identify me (despite living in the same house for over 20 years and that is where I was sending it!) The email said to go to the store and validate my identity. I tried to do that. The store told me their system was screwed up and I should just come back on launch day. So since I couldn't preorder successfully I have to go stand in line. I don't mind that much. But still annoying their system screwed up my order.
 
I was going to camp out but I think I'm gonna pass. For the next week or two I'll just keep checking Apples site and reserve a phone for pickup.
