ATT just slashed the cost of the 2 gb plan by 15 bucks this morning. More savings for the customer.
For low data users, this is great.

We have T-Mobile to thank for that.I notice they also cut the device fee. I was getting a $40!! device fee before when I picked plans under 10GB, now it's $25 for plans under 10GB and $15 for 10GB and up.
They're being damn aggressive with the price drops!
Just not for Verizon, and least for nothing outside of being on the Edge program.I notice they also cut the device fee. I was getting a $40!! device fee before when I picked plans under 10GB, now it's $25 for plans under 10GB and $15 for 10GB and up.

Trust me, losing 1 million customers will be VERY SIGNIFICANT to Verizon.
AT&T just announced this:
AT&T is cutting the price of its 2GB Mobile Share Value Plan.
The company announced Saturday that starting tomorrow -- Sunday -- customers with one smartphone can sign on to the 2 gig plan for $65 a month, and customers with two smartphones can sign on for $90 a month. In both cases, that's a $15 drop from current Mobile Share Value Plan charges, the company said.
Customers can bring their own phone, buy one at full retail, or finance one through AT&T Next.
The plans come with unlimited talk and text, 50GB of cloud storage, and unlimited international messaging, AT&T said
The network is strong enough that they don't have to worry about AT&T right now. Maybe when AT&T catches up in LTE deployment they can make Verizon react. So far the customers have shown that they value the broad coverage of Verizon over cost. As evidenced by the large number of customers Verizon gained compared with the mediocre gains of AT&T last year. AT&T had to react to T-Mobile, Verizon didn't.
That was before AT&T new prices. AT&T only dropped the prices VERY recently. Feb 2 2014 if I remember correctly.
Last year, AT&T and Verizon prices were about the same.
Starting Feb 2 2014, it is a whole different ballgame.
AT&T is schooling Verizon when it comes to prices.
Verizon already kinda reacted with the $20 per line discount for EDGE. Imho, they need to extend the discount for BYOD and off-contract subscribers. Anyhow, we'll see if Verizon makes any changes from now until the next iPhone's release.Time will tell. Verizon will react, but I think they will provide more for the same price. Pay more get much more.

Anyone know what the employer discount (not employEE discount, I think it's called FAN) applies to with this plan? Is it just the $100? Does it also apply to my phone? The other two phones?

I guess when the Q1 numbers come out we will see. AT&T really isn't all that much cheaper once you factor in either buying your handsets outright or financing using the NEXT program. Verizon still can charge slightly more because of the difference in coverage. Verizon customers can be almost anywhere in teh geographic US and still have service. Can't say that for the other 3 carriers.
Or Verizon could actually have better coverage in various areas where differnent people are where AT&T (and/or other carriers) is lacking in one way or another.Guys just stop already with the Verizon has more coverage bit.
While Verizon may have more RURAL coverage, they're neck and neck with AT&T in cities and the surrounding suburbs.
All this foolishness about Verizon being the Apple of Wireless is hogwash!!! Verizon has not consistently been on top, like they used to.
I've always had AT&T and they have never left me without service, so what you guys are talking about is a bunch Red Sheep nonsense.
I'm so glad I'm not mindless, commercial repeating subscriber like you guys seem to be; smh #

That is true, if you want to go on some of the newer promotional plans, you pay the full price for the iPhone. If you do not want to cough up 600+ for the iPhone you can spread the cost of the phone over 2 years. ATT reduces the month to month data cost if you go with this option, and VZW reduces the data plan around 20 dollars depending on which data plan you have (I think)Many have stated that switching to these plans do away with your subsidy for the next iPhone.
Not necessarily the case for everyone. I'm on a 4-line AT&T Mobile Share Value 10GB plan and it actually saves me $264 over the life of contract even if I stick to a 2-year upgrade schedule on all 4 lines. I actually save even more since 2 of the lines on our account don't care about upgrading their phones so I'm not on the hook for a $450 subsidy (more like $480 + $36 activation fee, actually) on those should they keep the phones until they break. The main draw for these plans, as I see it, is for folks who like to change phones often, not for those who keep it for 2 years.
I did the math on the current VZW Edge plan and I found it to be nearly identical to my old contract plan. The only downside is you when you when a new phone (after having paid 1/2 of the phone off either monthly or in a lump sum) you have to trade that in to get another
It is entirely your choice. With the mobile share plans, you have three options when upgrading to a new phone:My concern is that would I be getting the $450 discount at time of purchase/signing the contract? Would my current $15/mo and $10/mo for the lines stay the same?
Which is seriously not worth it since on the 10GB plan, it adds $25/mo per line to your plan cost which equals $600 after 2 years and you still have the initial payment of $199/299/399 plus $36 activation making that $649/749/849 iPhone cost $835/935/1035.3) Enter a new 2-year contract: Your smartphone rate goes up to $40, but you get the new phone for the subsidized price
Agreed. Plus, you lock yourself in for 2 years.Which is seriously not worth it since on the 10GB plan, it adds $25/mo per line to your plan cost which equals $600 after 2 years and you still have the initial payment of $199/299/399 plus $36 activation making that $649/749/849 iPhone cost $835/935/1035.
There's a thought. Is it possible to get the device on contract and just pay the ETF after a month has passed and go back to the $15 line fee?Agreed. Plus, you lock yourself in for 2 years.
