Got the whole pack. Be aware that only a few of them are the actual arcade version. I am a Battlezone fan myself and it plays pretty well even with the controls.

Definitely fun reliving some of these games.

Dang! I can't tell you how many billions of dollars I spent on these games as a yout. Ha. Now I could have them all for $15. But too late I guess. I downloaded Tempest for old times sake. It was my fav in the arcade. I don't know if its my age or the iPhone but just not that fun.

The reviews so far haven't been good..... unplayable controls, and the games take up too little screen real estate. Sounds like a rush job to me.

This must be the William Hung of game Apps.

Everyone knows it stinks but they buy it anyway...

This would be the only reason I would buy an iPad. Being almost 49 I don't even want to know how much money I blew playing all the great old school arcade games. If I had the money I'd blow it on getting this, alas with one kid in college and another getting there in four years I won't be spending any money on Apple's iToys anytime soon.

This is great. I recall a year ago that a few of us were at a friends house playing Tecmo Bowl. Another friend, who isn't a gamer and stuck in books, looked up and said this is funny. You guys have a Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, HDTV, 7.1 surround sound and you're having a blast playing a 20 year old game that looks like crap.

Kinda like this Atari thing. Powerful mobile phone that can do Unreal engine based games, yet people are thrilled for Atari games. Pretty funny and cool. Fun is fun right?

They may be available for free, but that doesn't really mean they are available legally. :)

arn

Correct. The emulators for Macs are for FREE, but the ROM's are on pirated websites.

Anybody complaining about the quality , remember this was looooong time ago and maybe you weren't born yet.

It actually started off with black and white pong.

Say what?

I'm lovin it, but no space invaders :(

Well that sucks. Between Space Invaders and Astroides those are my two favorite Atari games... Now if we could just get some of the Activision games ported over! Oh.......the memories.

Some games I would like to see now that we are seeing stuff like this pop up in the app store:

Joust
Gauntlet
Pitfall
Defender
Tecmo Bowl
Star Wars (wire frame version)
Afterburner

:D

This is something I absolutely don't need, BUT I WANT IT!!! Including the iCade cabinet.

Only $15.00?!

Wow! This so awesome. '80's flashbacks are rad (except flashbacks dealing with the politics of the era)!!

Nostalgia is priceless; err, umm, 80's nostalgia is worth at least $15.

Best sit in arcade game ever !!!!

I must admit that the sit-in version did give that in-the-X-Wing-cockpit feeling. My favorite sit-in, though, was Omega Race.

By the way, InuNacho, yes, the original sounds for Yar's Revenge left a lot to be desired. However, Yar's Revenge was IMHO the best original (i.e. not adapted from an arcade version) Atari 2600 sci-fi game in terms of gameplay.

...Debate, anyone?

Don't forget also Star Trek Strategic Ops:

Guy had the sit-down one local for $750 in perfect condition - wow, sold it in under 1/2 hour...

The upright version of this one that was at my university's arcade got many a quarter from me. "Entering Sector 1... Point... 2." :D

I would have bought the sit-down one for that price, too. Some collectors would have paid more, just to get a working vector CRT.

Love the idea but the execution is a joke. So you download the app and get exactly one crappy game, Pong, and you have to wade through dozens of other games just to find it and play it.

Then if you want to get one of the good classics you get is in a "4-pack" that includes 3 games you don't care about. So if you really want all the classics you are essentially forced to buy all 100 games for $20.

Soooo, how many games did you get originally for $20? What a lame gripe!

Personally, I couldn't stand to listen to the primitive sound effects for the whole length of the attached video... my ears! my ears!

Smb

Now if we could only get Super Mario Bros, I would be in heaven.
Remember that nostalgic mushrooms and fire flower? LOL, I would love to see the entire suite....Super Marior Bros. 1, 2, 3, and all of the subsequent ones on the subsequent Nintendo consoles.....
