First of all, thank you for your informative response. My question is, what about the phones picked up today? Is it possible that my particular phone has in fact been picked up by FedEx for delivery even though I have not received any kind of shipping information yet (assuming I ordered in time for the first batch of iPhones)?

First of all, thank you for your informative response. My question is, what about the phones picked up today? Is it possible that my particular phone has in fact been picked up by FedEx for delivery even though I have not received any kind of shipping information yet (assuming I ordered in time for the first batch of iPhones)?
I don't think that was shipment confirmation, just some random text.
I definatly don't want to ask a CCR because they will give me mis-leading information.
It is possible, but there is no way to know for sure until they send you a tracking number. I would guess that if you didn't have a tracking number by midnight tonight, then you most likely will not get your iPhone on Friday.
Maybe they weighed two at once lol, my 32gb iPhone 5 is at its last stop before my house (30min away) and still weighs the same, 1lb

I'm not hearing too many updates in this thread compared to yesterday aside from those who have already shipped.
I think it is highly unlikely for people that don't have a tracking number yet to receive their phones tomorrow.
Next big push looks to be next Thursday , day before release to 28 more countries.

I'm in Philly too. Went by the AT&T store where I bought my iPhone 3G and nobody is in line. Queue usually starts up at 5am day of. Which Apple Store did you go to?
Also, don't expect to walk into an Apple Store tomorrow for accessories. I got turned away so many times when the iPhone 4 came out
I've been following this thread closely for a few days now so i thought it only appropriate for me to give my thoughts, experience and circumstance.
For the record I went into the ATT store in the late afternoon after the iPhone 4 was announced, received it on the release date and that was that.
This however was no where near the same experience. Like many of you i tried to place my pre-order online to no avail, so the hour my local store opened i placed a pre-order for my iPhone 5s 16GB (1 white, 1 black). The lady that helped me explained that i should receive my phones on the 21st and that i would get a confirmation e-mail and charged the day they are shipped (the pre-authorization charge has come and went). I patiently waited and kept up with this thread and today realized that i am NOT getting my phone tomorrow. no updates, backorder qty change and no charges on my card.
I spoke with the billing department at ATT because they upgraded my account with a smart phone plan last week with the assumption i would be getting my phones tomorrow (i am currently using some cheap pay as you go phones). After i spoke to the rep he assured me that i would not be getting it tomorrow and would be getting it between Oct 4-15 and i could count on that. When i said that i did NOT want to do business with ATT after this ordeal he said that i have a 14 remorse period in which i could cancel my 2 year agreement and that all i would have to do is bring the phones in and they would take care of it.... How do i do that without the phones in my hands you ask? exactly what you think... i cannot. So i'm stuck with ATT unless i want to pay the early termination fee because it will be 3-4 weeks after i signed the agreement that i would receive my phones.
Moral of the story is i got screwed royally and there is nothing... NOTHING i can do but wait until Oct 4-15 to receive my phones and get charged. I also explained how i used my debit card thinking everything was peachy but i don't want $500 taken from account on any given day when they feel like they are ready... Could i change the debit card used so that it goes on my credit card and doesn't affect my bank account? noooope.
I don't mind ATT, but they certainly dropped the ball on how they handled all of this.

The only reason I ask is because I was supposed to be receiving it tomorrow, according to what was told to me at the time I pre-ordered, and I have still not received a tracking number. So you think there's still a chance I could receive tracking before midnight today? Forgot to mention, but I'm in Houston Texas... Fairly close to Fort Worth. Thanks again.

Yes. If your ATT status say "shipped," your good to go I think. My status changed yesterday afternoon but w/o a shipper or tracking #. I have a UPS acct so they email when a delivery is pending -- that's how I discovered the tracking #s this AM even as the info on ATT's site was still void of any information.
When I tracked the package I discovered it had been in transit all yesterday, even before ATT's site indicated it shipped. So if your's says shipped keep hope alive.

I did drive past the apple store in marlton and their were 2 kids sitting outside around 3:30 today.
Yep.... My store promised me before I paid for my pre order that I would receive it Tommorow ... I asked them 20 times before I paid and they said yes ... Called Tuesday and they said don't worry you are guaranteed your phone on Friday .... Called today and a whole different story... Now they are telling me that I am not... I'm pissed because I would have stood in line Tommorow like I have been doing for the last five years.. My 4s ends Saturday on eBay because I actually believed these people.. Now I'm going to have to shut the auction down... I can truthfully say I will never pre order a iPhone again for the rest of my life... On top of it all they are telling me that I can't cancel my order until the shipment arrives
