Well, just got off the phone with a Premier CSR (don't know if that matters). I wasn't a Dbag because this fiasco isn't his fault. I was one of the ones that ordered Friday but the order got processed two days later so I wasn't getting one tomorrow. I wanted to cancel my order and pick one up in the next week or so. He was totally cool and cancelled my order. I asked about my eligibility and he said he'd fix that in a minute or two. Had a nice chat, joked about all the nerd rage and he had me cancelled with my eligibility restored in under 8 minutes. I verified this as soon as I hung up on the Apple store app. I'm now free to pick up something in a store, I got on the list at a local Radio shack. If you're cool and the CSR doesn't suck, getting your eligibility back takes just a few minutes....enjoy your phone everyone!

AT&T made it right (for me)

I pre-ordered through an AT&T retail store on 9/14. I was the second person in line to pre-order. I found out later that the retail salesperson did the transaction wrong. Instead of having me sign terms and conditions at the time of sale, he did something else that prohibited any tracking of my order (even the CSR couldn't track it). The salesperson told me several different things, first that the phone would come to my home, then the store, then home, then when I left, he confirmed it was coming to the store. I will spare you all the additional details of what went wrong and just say this: It was a hot mess.

CS confirmed that the retail salesman botched the pre-order. I called the store today to try and track down my phone. No dice. The store manager said (after several hours) that she was able to find my order, but that it was still "pending" eventhough I was #2 in line at the store. The manager called me a few hours ago and told me that the store rec'd 2 white 32g iPhone 5s today and she was putting my name on one of them (and locking it in the safe). I'm going to get my phone at the store tomorrow after all. I honestly thought I was hosed. The manager recognized her staff's error and made it right. I hate them less now. ;)

Keep in mind, they fly cargo on commercial aircraft as well. The FEDX planes are dedicated and move the bulk of the system. But they often fly overnight stuff on regular passenger planes.

Oh thank God...cause the only flight from DFW to PHL on the UPS plane landed at 5:30 tonight and my phone was at DFW at 9:00.

mentioned this earlier when I tried to create a new thread for those who ordered in store. I don't think we follow the same shipping trends (most of us).

Something inside me thinks that the past hour or two, when there's been a little more activity for in store orders, is not a coincidence.

Maybe as the stores are closing they are unboxing in preparation and scanning our phones in? Maybe the phones are being sent out for an overnight trip to the story?

Maybe I'm a delusional optimist? Maybe I'm jealous and illogical? Maybe?

I think that last line is true!

Fellow 1406s... We will have our phones tomorrow. It's cool

I dont think so!

You are taking a chance you may be one of the lucky few. But i agree they need a better system.

I think the real issue is the short announcement to preorder to launch timeline... I mean sure we all want it as soon as its been announced... but since everything is supposed to be 'hush-hush' in the manufacturing side etc... and then basically the carriers have just a few days (probably 3) to take hundreds of thousands of orders, get them put together, and sent to apple for fufillment... and doing that over a weekend... that really has to be horrible for all in involved... over-time, extra-hours, etc.. i mean someone physically as to match your order to a phone... for those in premier ATT had to have someone actually 1) determine if you had a business account or fan account, 2) actually convert your premier-order to a web order (where mine never crossed), etc....

Add an extra week in there... would give time for carriers to actually prioritize correctly on FIFO, give enough time for those with issues (mistyped card? decline issue?) to actually do soemthing (and preferably with agents who actually care and know what are doing... or more preferably VIA A WEB INTERFACE) .... and it would give time for apple (or whoever) to ramp up a bit more and adjust.

and seriously, ATT ... people who have discounts for "FAN" ... who do NOT have any company pay ... should be treated just like normal people... who can order normally etc...

i talked to a BUNCH of different people. all of them said they were unable to cancel my order.

I think you'll get it tomorrow, but if not, doesn't Fed Ex deliver on Saturday?

I'm UPS, but I live 10 minutes from the HUB, so I can pick it up Saturday...after I take my daughter to soccer, get her soccer photos, drop my dog off to get groomed, pick up a gift for a 1:00 party, and so on, and so on. But if my phone is at UPS on Saturday morning - they hubby will do the running around as I sit on the couch with my toy in my hand!
