FOR ALL OF YOUR PEOPLE STILL WAITING TO GET OUT OF BACKORDER:

One of my phones (white 16gb) just went from backorder 1 to 0 then shipped with a tracking number in LITERALLY about 3 minutes. There's still hope! Now if the other one would do the same thing....(my line).....

I've given up on getting mine. From what the geniuses at ATT.com support can tell me, I somehow was backordered and they're not sure why even though I managed to make the cut-off time by six hours. Even though I work at an AT&T store, I think I'll go switch to T-mobile.

So I ordered mine at 8am eastern on the 14th through apple.com and it says it won't be delivered until Oct. 5th. Could this be correct??? When did pre-order open? I thought it was 8am eastern. I was up at 5am for work and didn't even check.

I ordered Friday morning at 2am, nearly on the dot. It took moments to complete the order. Received my order confirmation email at 2:11am. When did you order?

It was 3AM eastern.

I see that a couple of people with 1406 orders are getting their phones but I definitely find it a little strange that a fair number of us with 1406 are still on backorder. I don't know what to make of it.

I hope ATT gives a good explanation of what went wrong. I'm one of the lucky ones, but I always felt like something was going to go wrong. Next time I'll just go stand in line at the Apple store.
