ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

I wondered the same thing so I called FEDEX. They said if the driver feels the location is secure they will leave the package. So in my case, they leave stuff here all the time. I'm putting a note on the door for the 3 hours I'll be gone today and hope for the best.

Mine is coming UPS and I called them yesterday. They said they are not signature required, but UPS was instructed NOT to leave iPhones on the doorstep without a note AND a safe place to leave the phone (out of eyesight). I almost left the house today without leaving the note. DUH

I was thinking the exact thing. However, I don't get off work until 3pm. I doubt they would let me cancel my order. Also, If I do. There's a chance I loose my upgrade. I didn't want to take the risk of that happening.

Shipping Status: Processing

I ordered my iPhone 5 last Fri., and received an order number with a delivery date today, 9/21/12. I keep checking my order status on AT&T's web site and it says "shipping status: Processing". Is everyone getting that same message?

I think what happened is a ton of people ordered at midnight and the system wasn't able to process all those orders so they became "back ordered" in the system. Because it sounds like most people who ordered around 5am pst are getting their phones today including myself. They must have had to go in and manually process these "back ordered" orders which in turn put them behind those who ordered a little later in the morning.

Its hard to explain but there is a pattern it seems.

Where were you having your delivered?

I did it this way because I am adding a line for my son, but the new line will get my 4S and I will take the new 5.

Although my phone will presumably come today, my CC still has the AT&T charge as pending. I wonder if the charge will somehow be posted after delivery.

And my UPS tracking just updated at 8:17 to out for delivery. I probably won't get it until late afternoon.

That's kind of weird. My store wouldn't let us do in-store pick up. Period.

They said we could only have the home delivery option...

So FedEx will :

- leave it at your house or apartment if they feel it's safe
- if they don't feel it's safe, they'll leave a slip on the door and will retry tomorrow
- So that you don't have to wait at home all saturday, FedEx will let you reroute to a local FedEx/Kinkos office
