Black 16GB just delivered by FedEx. No scratches, scuff marks on it. Beautiful design. Heading out now to find a clear protective cover. Wow, this thing makes my 3GS look like an antique!

I just did a google search for EXTP88 etc. Its funny that there were similar issues with backorders in 2010 with the same order numbers.

What is really going on with ATT?
I was given an early upgrade by an att rep, however, I can only order the phone through them. What is the difference of them approving the upgrade and allowing me to buy an phone at the apple store. Just called and there are many units in stock. What is the difference??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Go to this link. https://www.wireless.att.com/order_status/order_status.jsp?vMethod=&vNumber=&ZipCode=

Use the wireless number for which the order was placed.

They tell that to everyone I think. I called Saturday and they told me the same thing. Then it shipped Sunday. I don't think the CSR's are clueless. You can go to the status page and get the same info they have. All they can do is guess.

I was hoping a nice friendly call would do that for what happened to you. Lol. I guess the bacon can't win them all. Well, I do got things to do for the week. Top item after paper work is finally beating Arkham City.

Is it NOT weird that those of us who PRE-ORDERED our phones get it later than those who did NOT? Those who did NOT can WALK into the store and buy it while us EARLY birds get punished by having to wait WEEKS for ordering it online?

The logic of the world...it has absolutely none.

Next time I won't preorder and I'll just walk into an Apple/AT&T store one day after launch. Because it makes more sense than pre-ordering online, way more sense.

I'm with you on this one. It is funny that this is my 5th iPhone purchase and I've done them different each time. But I've learned a lot this time and will take what I've learned and apply it next year :)

I've been waiting nearly 60 hours as well for tracking info after going off backorder. I was expecting to wake up to a tracking number, but no such luck. :(

Ordered 16B white IP5 9/14 1:00pm EST, order batch 1841

Me too but no such luck.

Ordered from a store in Flower Mound (North Dallas) at 9:03 on the 14th. Went off back order late evening on the 21st. On the truck for delivery today.

Well this gives me hope. I'm Houston by the way. When is yours scheduled to arrive, tomorrow? Also is it UPS or FedEx? With my luck, I probably won't get shipment info all day today, but I'm trying to stay positive...

How did you pull that off? I'm having trouble trying to get them to move my upgrade date up by a few weeks for the 4 lines that are eligible at the end of October.

I had one too but it was only on one line which was a month early, the other line was eligible, maybe because it was only one line waived? You never know you might be able to get at least one?

My upgrade was 6 months early. I have not been on this thread in a few days. The EXTP orders have been associated with early upgrades?

No I think it's External premier. My early upgrade is 9041.

I have this number and the upgrade credit on two lines, one order, the 16GB white is coming tomorrow, my 32GB white is still in backorder, so not entirely true.

I ordered the same two phones and had an early upgrade on the 32, both on back order of course.

Why is ATT online chat always unavailable for me?

Log out and try to find it for some reason that sometimes works for me.

Great now every single place near me is out of stock and not sure when they are coming in, I am so mad we could have went and bought it easily in store on release day, I know several people around me that did.

Encouraging...

As quoted from the front page of MacRumors this morning:

'Some of those "late" iPhone 5 pre-orders through Apple that had been quoted delivery in early October have already begun shipping with estimated delivery dates of September 27. Those units will not, however, be counted as sales by Apple until they are delivered.'

I assume this means those of us now off back order--and whom ordered on 9/14--can expect to see deliveries this week for sure. I'm trying to remain encouraged. I ordered @ 11:30AM CDT here in Chicago and [still] waiting for my black 16gb phone. I'm in the 1910 group--if that means anything. As of this morning I'm still without tracking information.

EXTPB889 (there's a B in my order no. for some reason). Ordered 9/14, 2:00pm still on backorder.

I think the EXTP #'s will be the last ones to ship for whatever reason. I haven't seen anyone respond that their order has shipped.

here's a screenshot of email received when i requested update for order.

I'm going to call them when I get home this evening and ask about moving the dates.

Ordered 32gb black on 9/14 at 8am est. Received confirmation e-mail right after saying it would be deliver ON 9/21.

However, I received a text message at 3pm saying that my order has been processed so I'm thinking that was the date it's basing my order off of.

Still pending shipment and I have a back order status at 1.

I have yet to receive any kind of update on my shipment

Last time I order anything from AT&T online.

Same thing here... I ordered mine via Premiere at 6:30 AM EDT. I still show backordered... They won't even cancel the order for me... Though for some reason the upgrade is now showing eligible again but the iPhone is still showing backordered... they money went back on my card so if I find one I'm upgrading and if AT&T sends me one without charging me by mistake I'm selling it. That's their problem... (They did that to me last year...)

I'm just as upset that I pre-ordered my iPhone 5 and still don't have it. However, I doubt I would have been able to just walk into an Apple or AT&T store one day after lunch and get one. I'm sure it will be weeks before any store will have enough stock on hand before running out. But I'll just wait it out next time and not pre-order.

For those that care, both our phones were delivered today at 11:30 AM. I had ordered them in an AT&T store at 9 AM EST. Both were listed as backordered until Thursday at around 10 PM when they switched to back ordered 0. They shipped out on launch day and sat all weekend at my local fedex facility (grrr) :)

I think I'll be driving home on my lunch break to grab them!

Sorry, that is for orders on apple.com. This thread is for people that ordered from AT&T directly.

Does anyone know if a shipping email is sent at the same time the order status is updated? Trying to figure out which is more productive to neurotically check... :)

Mine is a 16 GB Black 90410. Phone order before 9am EST on 9/14. It went off back order Saturday early evening & I'm hoping it's on it's way to be shipped.

I'm starting to think that everyone who pre-ordered in-store on 9/14 morning either received their phone or some kind of shipment info...except me. Backorder turned 0 on 9/21 afternoon, still no sign of shipment. Sigh...

Oh, thanks for correcting my oversight. Shows how desperate I am! I did order online through AT&T. Grasping at virtually any piece of info. I can find to remain hopeful.:)

Am I the only one with XSA order number? I ordered in store early upgrade override, 7 PST 9/14. Give me hope if you went off backorder already. ;)
