ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

Has anyone with a 1406 order number gotten their tracking # or their iPhones shipped yet. I'm in desperate need of some good news. This waiting game is killing me!!

Also, for those who cancelled their orders, What number did you guys called?
I've calling every number they game me and they all turned me down :(

He went on to tell me how there would be no guarantees if I went to the Apple store - they were running out too - have to stand in line forever etc and it made much more sense to order direct from ATT despite the problems - AND THEN HE TOLD ME HE HAD TO STAND IN LINE 5 HOURS AT THE APPLE STORE TO GET HIS PHONE!!!!

I considered doing the same. I called the Chicago store and they had lots of stock, but I was cautioned to simply arrive sooner than later given that supplies could go fast. Then I called AT&T to announce what I wished to do...and was given the story about how I couldn't cancel, and if I did, Apple would open a new line on my mobile share plan and I'd have to return my phone once delivered, yada-yada-yada. Decided against going. I think that was a mistake on my part.:(

I pre-order 9/14 at 2:56 am! Backorder 1! This is insane!

Order groups have no difference on when you get your phone. I got about $400 back from ATT and to be honest, I really didn't deserve it. They told me 14-21 days (and I ordered before you) and when it comes today it would be about 4 or 5 days after release. Stop feeling so entitled. It sucks we couldn't get them on release day but you knowingly accepted 14-21 days so anything before that you should be happy with.

ordered on 09/24 around 7 pm, got email from att around 9:30 pm says the order has been processed but the estimate delivery date is 10/23-11/01 but this morning i noticed my amex got charged..does that mean maybe i will get it earlier than 10/23?
 
I cancelled my preorder and reserved one online from apple store. Picking it up today instead of having to wait 3-4 weeks. And I preordered on the 14th... what's the point of preorder when you can just reserve it online. Why don't they make that feature available, instead of giving us a headache with backorders. smh
 
9041 order on the 16th

Just got off the phone with a friendly customer service rep named Juan... He said my white 16g will be shipping in the next 72 hours! Yeah!!! Still showing backordered status...

I'm counting on you Juan! Don't let me down!

Did it get charged or just authorized?
 
Well this has been a very hectic process, here is my story
9/14 3pm PT: Pre ordered blk iphone 5 16 gb in store
9/22: Went to an At&t store, they said it wouldn't ship until the 4th through the 15th, so then I told them to cancel my order so I could get one from Apple, they eventually "did"
9/25: Woke up to shipping info saying it will be delivered today 9/25 to the At&t store I requested it be delivered to.

Some of the At&t in store employees have been rude, and even lied to me about cancelling my preorder. I am happy that I am getting my phone, but this will surely be my last one with At&t.
 
EXTP889980 was ordered on Friday the 14th 10:00CST by phone. However, the order did not go through until Saturday.

16gb Black. Is off of backorder at 0830 CST. Still processing though. Hopefully a tracking number soon. To those who were on backorder status of 1 and then changed to 0. How long did it take for the shipping status to change?

How did the cancellation process work? I want to do the same thing, but knowing my luck I will cancel my order then find out no Apple stores have phones near me (Washington DC area).....:confused:

Also, is it just me or do they purposely make it difficult to do this switch? You can't check the Apple Store inventory until late in the night when the AT&T tech support is unavailable to cancel your order... Bogus! :mad:

charged, got a text msg from amex
 
Black 64gb ordered in store about 4:30pm Pacific time Friday the 14th; backorder count went from 1 to 0 late last Saturday night. No change since then.

Call the Apple Store(s) in your area first to inquire about availability. A sales rep can easily tell you whether or not they have what you seek. That's how I discovered the model I wanted was plentiful at the time.

You ordered right between my two orders. But mine were processed the same day. Weird but that's good to know at least it being processed later didn't hinder them working on it the same time as the 9/14 processed orders.
 
order numbers do absolutely no good.

seeing as I ordered one 16 black and one white(20 minutes before the black) and both had 1010 ON and the black was delivered on the 21st and the white still says backordered
