Earlier in this thread I cancelled the order for my two iphones, 1 16gb and 1 32gb. I did this over the phone with them, everything was okay according to them and when I checked on both my phone *639# and on their website both showed I could upgrade either phone. So fine, everything was cancelled, even though their website still showed both orders and only "processing". I figured it would be updated soon as it took two days from when I ordered to show up in the first place.
Fast forward one week. Yesterday morning I received an email stating my 16gb phone was being shipped, not only being shipped it was set to arrive at my house the same day and added the caveat my credit card had been charged. So first I checked my card, no charge showed as pending or had been made. I called ATT, explained the situation and asked them to verify the phone orders were cancelled. The lady confirmed the orders were cancelled and also confirmed I was set to receive a phone later that day. She tried contacting FedEx but they weren't open yet. She called back later and said they tried but were unsure if it was successful to stop the delivery. She told me to just reject the delivery if it arrived. I explained no one was home during the day so no one was there to reject anything. They were successful in not delivering the phone.
Now the point to all this is not just to update everyone on my experiences but to say that I continued to check their website throughout the week and my status never changed. It always just showed "processing", never back ordered or shipping or anything else and by the time I got the email the phone was practically on my door step. So if yours is still showing back ordered, it may be nothing at all and you too could get wake up to that email.
On a side note, I noticed my bill had updated as my month had expired and it showed I owed $194, previously I had a $50 credit. So while I was on the phone with this gal I explained something was wrong with the bill as my average bill is $158 and with a $50 credit my bill should be $108. The math is pretty simple. She confirmed there were no overages on my account of any kind and also confirmed my average bill, then tried to explain what might have happened and she would fix it and make it my average bill. I told her again it should be $50 less as I had the credit. We went back and forth on this as she didn't get it. After the 3rd time of explaining 158 - 50 = 108, she seemed to get it.
She asked me to hold, came back on and said she'd adjusted my bill to $80. I have no idea how she arrived at this figure but I decided not to fight with this woman any longer. She just wasn't going to get it and as long as it's not over what I should be paying, if she wants to screw up and charge me less, whatever, I probably deserved the additional credits for dealing with this moron.
So I'm done trying to do the right thing with ATT. If they want to give me additional credits, fine, if I receive another notice the 32gb phone is being shipped, as long as I don't see the charge on my card as mentioned above, I'm just going to let the morons ship it. When they figure it out they can send a call tag for it.
