9/14, 12:50 CDT in store order for a 16GB white has, in the last 1/2 hour, received UPS tracking number.

Never again.
 
Did anyone else know that you can't do FaceTime over 4g if you have unlimited data? I don't want to lose my unlimited data and switch just for this feature. Anyone finding a way around this?

Just use skype or tango. I'm a little pissed of this myself and I won't be forgetting AT&T being punks to get us to do what they want. That said, I contacted AT&T corporate and voiced my opinion about this. According to AT&T, in high useage areas Unlimited Data users will be throttled at 5 GB. By comparison for the same price on a Shared Data Plan you'd cap out at 2 GB when comparing price. I pretty much told AT&T that if they're going to cap my unlimited data, they should have the decency to allow me to use my "unlimited 5 GB's of data" however the hell I want. I'm making note for a possible jump ship from AT&T. I'm going to remember this.

Pre-ordered a white 32g on 9/14 at 7:48 am central time. Order was processed on 9/18. As of now, my order is still processing. Wtf.
 
Has anybody had trouble even seeing a status of their order on the AT&T status order page? I have entered all different combinations with phone number, order number, zip code, etc. with no luck. I have talked to CS several times and no one seems to know why its not showing up on the site. They can't see the order on their system and tell me to call the AT&T store that I ordered it from. The store in St Louis on Olive Blvd pretty much treats you like their little bitch and doesn't give much information and just says 14-21 days when no further help. It's been a pretty frustrating process. I would switch to Verizon but have 4 phone lines tied up with AT&T and would cost me a fortune to switch.

That sounds bad. It seems like you're the first person I'm hearing about that cannot see ANY status on AT&T's status page.

AT&T is just ***** with me now. This morning I got an email from Premier that my phone was shipped. Then realized that it was for my wife's phone that was delivered on the 21st! Seriously?

It is bad, AT&T can't even tell me why it's not on there. That is the web page I tried. Been trying everyday thinking something may change, no luck. It looks like my order just may be lost. I think I may just have to make a trip into the store and have them show me on their system where they see my order. Maybe they will answer my questions more in person than over the phone. Thanks for trying to help who-dat.

Dude, that happened with me too. Basically I too ordered from store and had requested the shipment to store instead of my home (since its safer, incase I am in office). And I couldnt find my order online since I was putting my home's zip code instead of the store's zip code. As soon as I put my store's zip code in shipping code, I found my order. Maybe this will help you too.
 
Captains Log... 9/28/12

As the second week of being stranded on this horrid back order island draws to a close, I can't help but to ask myself, "Is it really worth it?"

Before the ship ran aground, plenty of our number had already jumped ship to the USS Verizon... Maybe they were the smart ones...

Our numbers dwindle daily as our members receive this magical device that removes them from this dreadful isle. I can't be angry with them... I only dream of the day when I may be so fortunate...

The angry natives of the island taunt us with phrases like, "You're lucky to have the spot you have!" "You're not the only one!" and "it's not our fault!"... Their voices haunt my dreams...

We have no choice but to keep trudging forward... Dreaming of the day when we too will removed from this torture...
 
Has anyone gotten any info on how AT&T gets replenished with iPhone 5s? Do they trickle in daily, or is/are there day(s) of the week they get big shipments?

Not sure if it was just coincidence, but less than 24 hours after I called 611 to complain how slow the EXTP orders seems to be processing, mine went off backorder. Maybe you should try this and see. I asked them if they are intentionally making the EXTP orders wait longer and the rep acted like I was crazy.
 
How many of us are left that ordered on 9/14 that are still on backorder?

I ordered at 6:00 am on 9/14 but my order status page shows it didn't go through 'til the 18th. EXTP889987. It's a new line so I'm guessing they texted my non-existent phone a bunch of times telling me to accept the T&C and then just did it for me on the 18th.

I'm one of the 9/14ers that are still on backorder. Ordered 32GB black at 7:30 PM EST and processed the same day. The DREADED 32 GB Black!! :eek:

There is no rhyme or reason to any of this. Your order got picked out. Im still going to call because I want some credits for this whole ordeal.
 
iPhone 5 32GB black -- order EXTP889982 on 9/14 3:47 PM EDT - processed on 9/15. Still on backorder at 11:13 AM EDT 9/28.

The iPhone 5 16GB black I ordered on 9/14 2:03PM EDT also processed on 9/15 (EXTP889981). Arrived Thursday 9/27 via FedEx overnight.

Next time I'm ordering through Apple or waiting in line at the store -- never again!
