16 GB Stuck!
Looks like people like me who are in the 16 GB wagon are stuck in mud. I ordered on 16th, and still on BO. WHY????????

Just got off the phone with AT&T. The guy who could barely speak english told me that there was apparently there was a "problem" with my order...some kind of IMEI and SIM not matching up or some BS so he put me on hold...could barely understand what the ******* he was saying. About 5 minutes later he said he went ahead and processed it and if I don't get shipping info within the next 24 hours to call back. Then I asked if I would get my phone next week and he said "probably not"...WTF? So, I'm going to get shipping info but not get the phone next week?? How does that even make sense?! Whatever. Then I basically bitched them out and told them they obviously weren't doing this "first come, first serve" and I didn't understand why people were able to order on the 20th and already have their phones. So now lets see if anything happens today or tomorrow. I am so disgusted with this whole experience. I try to give them the benefit of the doubt but they do not deserve it and I have never had such a horrible experience with a company. If there was a "problem" with my order, why not call or email? Which carriers can I port my number to because I am seriously considering leaving. I get a military discount with them but you know what they can take it and shove it up their a** - I don't even care anymore.
UPDATE as of 2:30 pm: Well I can't believe it but guess what. I just checked my status and I am FINALLY, FINALLY off of Backorder. I thought I was seeing things. Looks like calling them up got the ball rolling but it should have never have come to that. Now I await shipping info. This doesn't make up for their piss poor service, but now I am at least hopeful that I will have my phone next week! Now it won't be so depressing looking at cases to buy. But seriously....FINALLY! omg.
Was your order actually processed on the 17th? I preordered the same phone and on the same day as you and Im still on BO! The only difference is that my order wasn't processed until the 19th! Does your order # start with EXTP?

Finally? Really? Those of us that ordered on the 14th take offense to that. If you waited till the 20th, why not just walk in the store on the 21st? Surely the website had a delay notice up when you ordered?

Yes... that has happened to several of us. I ordered on 9/14... My order date shows 9/19. Use this site: www.wireless.att.com/order_status to check your status. It will tell you if you are on back order.
Thanks to those who have posted so far. We have given each other more info (rumors and all) through this mess than AT&T has. It might even be healthy to vent and commiserate. I hope we have sent a big message to AT&T. Theyll get it when more and more people drop them and move on, asap. Granted, it might have to be in 2 yrs., but I do think it will happen.

I got a tracking # this afternoon -- again, via status page.

woohoo! our time has finally come. That was my scenario too...ordered on the 14th but status page said 16th and I have same model as well. Hopefully we get our shipping info soon.
I did, and it says I am on BO. I just pray this means my order has been processed, since I ordered in store and the rep in the store literally took an hour on phone with the cust rep to check/approve my eligibility.
But looking on the other order status page, it only says "processing", which terrifies me to the bones.
okay so I've had my phone since yesterday but I still don't see a charge from AT&T. When can I expect it to go through?

I never saw my order come off backorder (been checking daily) -- came off backorder w/ shipping info today. Delivery on 10/1.

Why all the frustration? They quoted you 14-21 days. If you preordered the very first day, then it has only been 15 days.
So someone ordered after you and got their phone before you. That's life. The system is not perfect. AT&T said 14-21 days, and most people get it SOONER than that window. So put your big boy pants on and at like an adult.

That's pretty much when my order processed even tho I ordered on 9/14. Still back order.

The problem I think most of have is the fact that AT&T CLEARLY said that it would be a "first come, first serve" basis on availability. So yea if someone who ordered after me gets their phone first then its not first come, first serve. AT&T dropped the ball, and the whole process was a giant mess. Also, a lot of people were promised delivery by the 21st and that didn't happen either.
