ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

My black 32GB iPhone ordered 9/14 but my credit card didn't go through until 9/17 (probably because I just changed my billing address before I ordered on 9/14) finally went off backorder today. Best of luck to everyone still waiting.

Looks like a lot of black 32GB iPhones getting off backorder today.

So someone ordered after you and got their phone before you. That's life. The system is not perfect. AT&T said 14-21 days, and most people get it SOONER than that window. So put your big boy pants on and at like an adult.

Right... Except that if you ordered early on 9/14 you weren't told 14-21 days...

I ordered 9/14 am. Was told I would receive phone no later than 9/26.

Contacted AT&T. Their solution was to tell me that I'm not the only persons that got messed up.

Forgive me if I choose to label this as "poor customer service"

Youre right its not about the wait so much as its about the absolute horrible way ATT is handling this. They should have come clean and say yeah we messed up but instead everyone is getting different stories.
 
Guess what?!?! Still on back order! It's so exhausting seeing all these people who ordered after me get there 32gb black off back order. Hate AT&T!
 
AT&T Pre-order

Ordered two iPhones on the 17SEP, on the 25SEP I checked the online order status showed that they were no longer on back order so I called an AT&T Rep, Tasha, she told me that they were no longer on back order and my order was allocated; However, she mentioned that since my pre-order was so later after the initial that I "may" not receive my phones until well after 16OCT. With a shipment date of between 06OCT to 11OCT, I was kind of bummed. On 27SEP though, I received an e-mail telling me my phones had been shipped and would be here on 28SEP. Got my phones in yesterday around 1530. Its unfortunate that the reps have such limited resources to give an informed answer to consumer questions, especially at $199+ price points.

Just my two cents.
 
I just came off backorder!
Checked it at 440, still back ordered, then again at 445 came off backorder. Black 16gb.

Ordered 9/14 8 pm est, processed 9/17 2 pm est.

Wife's white 16gb iPhone still BACKORDERED.

PRAISE THE LAWD! Finally off of back order!

I'm pretty sure the noise that just came out of my mouth were not human.

This makes me incredibly happy... especially because the Ponds just left on Doctor Who today...

Oh yay.
 
So since I came off back order today I should get shipping info Monday probably and expect delivery Tuesday! Wives not gonna be happy she's still BACKORDERED.

Went of BO Friday late afternoon
Now I have to wait for UPS to signal Monday or Tuesday delivery....

I've worked on old systems like this, you have a 9/14 Ordered Date, but that system didn't feed the "main" system until 9/17
(or it was REKEYED !) so your "queue" date is 9/17

I would guess that the "new" web system isn't connected to the legacy ERP system. Thats why the 9/14 to 9/17 date ....

then in 1 of the warehouses an "order" prints, they get collected and someone takes a bunch for fulfillment. puts them on a cart and hands it off to the shipping dept, who go through the paperwork to put your info into the shipping system, to get tracking info...

your paperwork gets "shuffled" in with others so date ordered can get meaningless, and with all the orders a three day slip is easy if someone picks up a pile upside down.... just my two cents on AT&T logistics ...

AT&T may be a bad company, but those guys and gales working in the warehouse on a Saturday are GREAT... Thanks for staying late to get my order out...

You have to wait for UPS or FEDX to get the package into their system, then you'll get a delivery date... Your looking at the data that AT&T sent to the carrier...

I ordered mine (16GB White) on Sept 24th Via ATT Premier. Still Showing Back-Ordered. Im on the EXTP88999 Group.
 
does everyone tack number looks like this
there no info or package details but it says it left.
no address or anything.

They must have just got a shipment of 16gb black to the warehouse today!

Now just waiting for my white.
 
Don't worry I'm not going anywhere yet cause I still need to do this for my wife lol.

The thing is my wifes phone still says she's eligible for upgrade. So if I can find a white 16gb anywhere around I'm just goin to cancel her order.

Mine on the other hand I had to waive the upgrade eligibility so I didn't wanna cancel and then have a fiasco with that. With hers it's easier.
 
Yah! ATT finally shipped mine on the 29th and due to be here on Oct 1st.

They sent an email but nothing about the phone, but only to welcome me to ATT. Gee, I've only been a customer for about 10 years or so, lol.

I had missed the preorder starting date so mine was processed on the 16th.

My iPhone Shipped today! Estimated Arrival this monday, Good way to start the month of october 😀

Btw the iphone hasnt been charged on my card yet... im getting it free?
