16gb White Order

I ordered 9/26 on AT&T website and processed same day. I ordered one 16GB White i5 and one 16GB Black i5. I am currently on backorder with a supposed 2-3 week shipping.

I have spoken with a friend who is an AT&T rep in-store and he said that those who ordered in the 20's should get shipping info on them in 1 1/2 to 2 week range.

I pre-ordered the 4s last year thru AT&T and was waiting for close to 3 1/2 weeks before I got mine last year. I am used to this lol

Hmm.. tomorrow makes 2 weeks for me. when I placed the order, they told me a shipping estimate of 10/9-10/13. so thats almost 3 weeks. but at the pace that the white 16gbs are coming...
 
FML!! I hope this works out the way the AT&T store rep just told me. I'm prob gonna ship next week sometime based on what I'm seeing the trend here. I ordered a black 16g on the 14 at 7am est via enterprise premier whatever they wanna call it. Order was there via I had an order number but somehow when I called in about when it should ship to ensure someone was home a new order was created on the 20 and the other just there but I had no idea about the order on the 20 until I was ready to cancel the order and the line and that order was canceled. I thought I had no order etc found 1 local upgrade status wasn't there called to find out I did have an order that was on 9/25. Nice of them to tell me when they placed it. Anyway I left that order and have waited it out.

My dilemma now is my debit card is Mia. I don't know if it got left at the place I had my car repairs done or if its in my house somewhere because my 3 year old dumped my purse. I've searched and my bank says rather than to order a replacement so the card I placed my order with is cancelled. I went by a store rather than call. I don't like giving my full card number to random people over the phone. Anyway I had hubby's debit card and asked them what to do bc I don't want to loose my place in line. The guy there said to wait til it ships then call AT&T and tell them what happened since they usually don't charge the card until after shipment that way they won't say they have to cancel and reorder giving me another forever wait. My bank says that since they preauthorized it that it may still go through depending on how long the auth was vs when they actually charge it even with the card cancelled since it was authorized before I lost the card. He said that was up to the way MasterCard processes it they have no control.
Those who have shipped how has your card been charged? After shipment or before or what? I could just cry!! :( :( money has sat in my account for 3 weeks I've been careful not to let myself spend it to not cause any issues and so close to my glory days and I could loose it all. I know it means I could go to apple or locally and get one but for some reason there hasn't been random ones local. The one I found at best buy that day was a preorder that changed their mind a few hours before. I live in Tampa so I assume a larger city stock would be harder to come by than if it were a small town.

I pray this works out like guy at the store says or at least the preauthorized charge can go through uuugggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!! :'(
 
I've been following this forum since ordering my White iPhone 5 32gb on 9/29 in store at AT&T. I obviously am not complaining because of all the pre-orders that have still not yet been fulfilled. But I called AT&T just to see the status, as I have a business account and cannot track it, and the guy told me that I was 10 down on the list and that 1-2 32gb whites come in per week. Does that sound right? Or does he just not really know what he's talking about? I mean 1 or 2 a week? :eek:

I forgot to mention I was told 3-4 weeks when I ordered however when I told them 32gb White they said it would be here sooner. So how is that possible if they only get 1-2 a week? That would be 5-10 weeks.
 
Same here. I literally check my order status via AT&T's web site 3 times a day (morning, afternoon, evening). I'm guessing the white i5's 16GB models are pretty popular.

Yeah it sucks! My frien ordered his 32GB 1 day after me. He just received the phone. :(

Apple should boost iPhone 5 16GB white production and Slow Down the 32 and 64GB
 
mine has been sitting with backorder 0 since the 3rd morning and no updates...i dont think people should get excited once they see backorder change from 1 to 0 and assume they will get shipping info within next 24 hours.

mine has been 48+ hours since it has changed and according to att rep i am still due to ship between 11th-21st...

I don't remember iPhone 4 or 4S being this hard to get... I mean a week after the 4 launched I was able to walk into AT&T and get one!
Now a week after the 5 I place an order online because there are none available in any stores and I still have to wait 2-3 weeks.
What's up? Just higher demand I suppose?

At least there's progress. I'm still on BO and would just love to see something change, just for peace of mind that my order is moving along. It's so frustrating not to know when it's going to happen. If I just get my order by the end of the month I'd be happy (AT&T- don't listen to that!)

Do you mean that you called your local ATT store where you physically ordered, or that Great ATT in the sky?
 
Thought I give an update.

16GB Black
Ordered 9/14, processes 9/17.
Off back order 9/29.
Still no tracking information as off 10/5

Multiple calls to support. First one asked for supervisor. There was none available they took my info to call me in24 hours. Got no call back.
Second call I spoke with supervisor on Thursday was told "I am 100% confident you will receive tracking in 24 hours and the shipping process will begin." Well that was wrong. Called today was hung up on while they tried to transfer me. Had enough called back and asked about the incompetent workers they have working at premier. They apologized. Offered me 60$ credit and here I sit still without my iPhone or tracking information. Blah....
 
I'm starting feel what those that have been on backorder for more than 2 weeks feel because I'm already sick of seeing that 1 after a week :rolleyes:
 
Ordered 9/15 order started to go through, they ended up sending the T&C to the wrong email which was their fault. So didn't get processed til the 20th and STILL on BO.
 
18th in store order update

16g black delivered today. Ordered/Processed: 9/18

16g white still back ordered and was actually order/processed BEFORE the 16g black on 9/18 lol kinda frustrating.

I feel you! Mine has been sitting with BO 0 also for about 42 hrs and still don't have a shipping info yet. :( I ordered 32gb white.

When I check my order status on both of the websites, it frustrates me that the page that shows the backorder status doesn't update the name of my case correctly like it does on the one where it just shows "Processing". What the heck is ATC Genco?

I'm so sorry.....

So today I went to the AT&T Store at Southdale Mall in Edina to see if they had any 32 gig models left - I'd wanted 64 but I'd have to wait a while to save up for it and my 4 had 32 gigs and I made do on that just fine.

So I asked AT&T how long I'd expect to wait for an iPhone 5.
"3-4 weeks but we can get you one"
OK Thanks - just checking.

Went to the Apple store:

"3-4 weeks but if you log on late at night there's a chance you can do in-store pickup."

OK. Thanks, just checking.

Next door was a Sprint store that looked like not much was happening in there almost but there was one guy in there picking up an iPhone 5.

So I said "do you have any iPhone 5's in stock?"

"What do you need for specs?"

Me: "32 gig, white or black".

Them: "We have ONE black 32 gig model left".

So in the blink of an eye I gave AT&T the heave ho and jumped ship to Sprint which I'd been thinking of doing anyway as AT&T had made a couple of billing errors and overcharging for data when I had "unlimited" as my company actually gives a better discount if we sign up with Sprint versus AT&T or Verizon or TMobile.

So, yeah, I have my 32. So far so good.
 
My friend who ordered his black 16g from Sprint on the 28th got his today. Wow! Really??? Maybe I should have switched carriers and said f it to att.
