ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

Yea, I think both 16s are in the 18-19 range that are being shipped. Both colors need some major production push so a bunch of major shipments can start coming in. 18-early 21 will probably be fast, but people ordered a lot late 21 if they didn't get one in store I think. How the heck many are still pending shipment through AT&T yet I wonder?

There are still quite a large number of 9/14--> preorders that are stuck at BO 0/pending shipment.....including myself.

I think its going to be awhile. I've lost all hope. I get to play with my wife's at least. She got one of the 10 White 16GBs produced @ 9/24

I'm worried! There used to be a pending charge on my card, but now its' gone! I know it hasn't gone through either, whats up?!!? I ordered a black 32 on 9/23. Anyone experience this? Do I really have to call the stupid att people?

If that charge has been there for a week, then it's gone because AT&T can only hold the money for so long before your item has been shipped, and then reverse the charge. When they ship your phone, the money will be gone again. At least that's what the CR told me when I ordered mine.

Still waiting on my 9/18 pre-ordered white 16gb... At this point I wonder if att could just change my back order status to 1/2... It's better than the 1 I keep seeing!! I hate that "1"!

So they will keep pending for as long as they're allowed, until my phone is available to ship? The absence of the pending charge won't affect me coming off back order, presumably this week?

It won't affect your order. If there's no charge, it will come back when your phone is shipped so be sure to have sufficient funds or something if it isn't a credit card.

Wow! Lucky you! I ordered 9/28 32gb White and it was off BO 10/3 as well but I still don't have shipping info. I hope my iphone will be shipped too today.

Mine hasn't been shipped out or off BO and I ordered on 9/28 ;\ Soon, hopefully. I don't get why my case is still on backorder as well since the AT&T online store has them shown as in stock.

That's what I've been thinking.

I have a 32GB iPhone 4 that I haven't even halfway filled. That's why I went 16GB for the 5. And unfortunately chose white this time as I have black now.

Received it @ 5 p.m. on 9/21.

Noticed home button problems on 9/26. Called Applecare - they shipped a replacement.

Received replacement 9/27.

Replacement had faulty Lightning port. Called Applecare - they shipped a replacement.

Received re-replacement 10/1.

Re-replacement had huge gouge in it out of the box. Called Applecare - they shipped a re-re-replacement. (LOL)

Received re-re-replacement yesterday.

In PERFECT condition. No pits, scratches, or ANYTHING.

I've used it all day, and it's only down to 49%, after about 4.5 hours of usage and 13 hours of standby.

(And I got a bunch of free stuff for my troubles.)

See, that's what I was thinking, too. I have a 16GB 4 and I've yet to fill it up but I was trying to justify it by thinking the 1080p videos would take up more space. Truth is, I just want the phone but I don't think I'm willing to shell out an extra $100 to possibly get it faster.

I ordered two on morning of 21st. One black 32 and one black 16.



32 went to backorder 0 early morning yesterday but nothing changed since then and no shipping info yet.

16 still shows backorder 1.



Per customer service my phone is scheduled to ship between OCT 11th-21st.



My sis opened a new account at ATT store in Irving TX and ordered a black 32 on 26th at 4:00pm and already got it and i am watching my nephew play temple run as i type this.

Update and summary:
Ordered on Sept, 26 as an upgrade, a 32 GB White. Received the tracking Oct, 4 getting it Oct, 5 at my local store.

GF order:
Sept 28, as an upgrade, a 32 GB White got off backorder today around 3:15-3:30am got the tracking info around 3:00 pm.
Here is the catch: This order was sent USPS Priority Mail for some weird reason.

Ordered on the 15th. Got processed on the 20th. White 16gm
Called at&t again today to say people that are ordering on the 21st, 22nd, 23rd are receiving their phones while im still on BO! My cousin ordered his on the same day as mine and he got his on the 22nd. The guy on the phone said their is no way and its impossible. I'm like well... i was just playing on his phone when he got it? Then he gave me 40 on my credit. And said its at the shipping place but probably wont receive it til the oct 24th!!! WTF!!!! Anybody else having this issue?

Finally!!!

Pre-ordered on the 14th via phone line to ATT, didn't get placed until the 18th, was charged twice for the order, wrong address was submitted, many, many calls to ATT customer service to correct info etc., so many lies im not sure they can get anything right to include the actual arrival date. Bottom line is my 5 arrived today via fed-ex. The phone is of course awesome but I think I am more happy that this process is over with. This is my last post as I wish the rest of you still waiting the best of luck. The phone is definitely worth the wait.

No offense but it hasn't even been 2 weeks since you ordered so you don't have much to be angry about (yet) since I'm assuming you were given either a 2-3 week or 3-4 ship estimate when you placed the order. Instead, your friends should be happy that they received theirs so early. There are still plenty of people who ordered before you that haven't gotten their phones yet. AT&T sucks for shipping out of order and not having knowledgeable CSRs but that's something we're all dealing with.

For reference, I ordered a 16gb black on 9/20 that just went off BO and has yet to ship. That means that it'll have to arrive after the weekend. I'll bet yours will be delivered sometime next week.

Less than 2 weeks after I ordered...got the shipment notice tonight. The wireless (AT&T.com) website was in fact correct and my order that switched to a pending status under tracking number was accurate. Phone is already at the Dallas airport on its way to me.
