SIM cards whether NANO, Micro or standard size are always scanned in and attached to a phone number your SIM is scanned at the UPS/AT&T warehouse most likely where it's put in the phone. When you receive the phone activate it like you would through Apple normally then ask an AT&T store if they have a spare NANO SIM. If they don't (very likely) you'll have to order one from 611 and assuming they have any, you'll get it in two days priority mail from USPS.

This is incorrect. The SIM is separate from the phone this time. AT&T can activate the SIM on their end to whatever number you want. They are not swapping the SIMS as in the past.

Did the exact same thing ordered in store and have gotten the same messages. I am not too worried about it I think we are all fine. It's a lot of updates and TR# etc, I think if I don't see anything by thurdays evening i might just assume I will not be getting it 9/21. If that is the case I will just wait till I get it not much else we can do.
 
Did you get an initial email with confirmation of your order? I ordered online so I have a web ID number and I used that to look it up.

If you ordered in the store, perhaps there's an order number on the receipt?

Yes, I have an e-mail. It has two numbers on it: 4xxxxxxxx and Wxxx-xx-xxx.

I have tried both. used my zip code and the stores zip code. Also, tried the new number associated with the phone (versus the main account number). Still nothing. Also, I get the same error when I log into my web portal and select "My Orders."

I'll probably call the guy who placed my order and see what his thoughts were.
 
Just another note - a "PENDING" charge on your card is not the same as a charge. It means the processing company who does AT&T e-commerce transactions has attempted to see if charging $200/$450/$600/etc will "bounce back" or be declined. Typically these amounts are $1 then the full amount. A pending charge means that the amount has been reserved and you will be debited the amount when it ships.

AT&T does not charge your card until the phone has shipped so if you've been debited the money (and not a charge, a hold or a pending charge) your phone has shipped.

I created an account to make this post since everyone in here is getting different messages.

I called AT&T Premier to get some info on my order. Before calling, I had mixed messages from two different chat reps. One told me that it's possible I receive my order on the 21st, another said no way.

I was a bit disgruntled so I called AT&T, waited 68 minutes on hold and finally spoke to a gentlemen who laughed at the live chat reps saying that they have a script that they need to recite and mostly all of them will be saying 14-21 days from this point forward....for ALL orders.

Anyway, the conversation went like this

Rep - What time did you order? What is your "web order number?" and What is your phone number?
Me - Gave all information, including confusing message from live chat and asked that he look at my particular order to give me information.
Rep - Please wait while I look up your order
5 minute wait
Rep - Mr. xxxx You'll be happy to know that your order is being prepared for shipping and will be ready to be shipped out within 2-3 business days. You will get your order by Friday latest.
Me - Are you sure? Is that the same for all premier orders that ordered before me?
Rep - Yes, you are within the cutoff time but we can't guarantee all other orders will ship on time, just yours because each account is different and some have problems with their orders.


Side note - My order says processing and my card charged (pending) since Friday. Email says "as soon as 21st" but haven't received anything since.

So, forget stressing if you got your order in before 630am est, we're getting it Friday.

Ordered at 6:45 EST Black 16 gb from ATT premier
NO cancel preorder button as of 11AM the 17th
backorder = 0 as of 11AM the 17th
Credit card checked for full 2XX.00 amount.
ATT is holding that money waiting for the phone to ship so they can confirm the purchase.
No tracking number yet.

I believe if you ordered from ATT before 12pm est friday, you WILL get your phone the 21st!

I'm in the same boat as you although I ordered at 8:30 a.m. EST.
I have:
Order is "processing"
A full amount pending charge on my CC since Friday
Initial web order email from Premier stating "as soon as" 9/21/12.

I also received an email with updated phone bill terms yesterday a.m. showing the activation fee charged already to my bill.

I really hope, that everyone that ordered this past Friday will get there phones on the 21st, I couldn't order until after school, so my order was put in at 4:40 at an AT&T retail store(I figured maybe it would process quicker so I could get my phone this friday :p) Although, I still have a 1 in the back-ordered column :( ...

No, he said that there is no exact cutoff, just an estimate. Orders were coming in so fast that theoretically, if 1000 orders all happened at 9:30est and the cutoff happened between those 1000 orders, how could they provide 9:30 or 9:31 as a cutoff? It made sense.

This is the number I called 888-333-6651. Wait the hour on hold and don't be a jerk. I specificaly said, "I need your help because I'm pretty confused based on the information at&t is providing me. Can you use my order number specifically to tell me the status of my order?"

He was able to tell me that the package was being assembled and it's going to be ready within 2-3 days for shipment by Friday. So, clearly, they have a mechanism to look up specific orders and locate them.

Cancel preorder on Premier site is gone.
Qty. Back-Ordered was 1, now its 0.

has anyone of you ordered the iPhone at 11:45cst or equivalent time in other region and noticed the "backorder" changed from 1 to 0?

also i've been reading about the cancel button? where can i find that cancel preorder button? i don't have it on my account.

-My Card has not been charged by ATT at all. Nothing pending.
-Have not received a TOS email either.
-ATT.com 'My Orders' page won't work no matter what combination I use to access it
-ATT.com still says my line has an upgrade available

I'm fairly confident I wont die, or my life won't all of a sudden suck if I dont get my phone on 9/21, but now I'm just curious as to why my credit card has no action.

ON THE SAME boat but the charge will happen on Wed/Thurs and you will get the email on one of those days.
