ATT iPhone 5 Pre-order thread

Tried to cancel my pre-order with ATT Premier since I was able to get a reservation through the Apple Store. Couldn't cancel the pre-order and missed my reservation time. Find out today that ATT cancelled my pre-order, but wouldn't tell me why, just that I had to submit another order. Re-ordered through Apple and now I'm looking at a 10/10-10/16 delivery. 
FFS the reps don't know anything. Stop calling them and asking them questions. Don't believe anything they tell you because they're probably making it up as they go (or basing it on stuff they've heard other reps say, who were making it up as they go).
The reps don't really know what they are talking about...some say shipping on 9/21 some say delivered on 9/21.
Yep, mine is back too. (Backorder is still at 0 though)
I chose FedEx shipping when I ordered and I have access to FedEx Insight which notifies me of any inbound packages to my office. I'll let you know if anything pops up there.

Yeah, pretty cool being up at midnight to order a phone when I gotta be up at 5am...get a reservation...think all is cool for the 21st and now like you...10-16...wtf
Ok so Just an update, I just called ATT and was able to cancel my order. Now im gonna have to go line up somewhere Friday

I realize many people aren't reading through this whole thread, but stop worrying.
The people you talk to via the chat or the general support numbers DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. Since a million people are calling in asking the same questions, the reps were fed generic information.
Think about it. Why would AT&T's strategy be to have the phones SHIP the day everyone else RECEIVES them? If they did that none of the early adopters would order through them.
My guess is the reps where told to say "The 21st!" and have made the uninformed assumption that means shipping. AT&T has been apart of EVERY iPhone launch and EVERY time they have delivered phones on the launch date. (I realize they didn't have pre-orders for the original iPhone, but you get what I'm saying).
If you are within the original allotment of iPhone 5's, you will get your phone on Friday. The rumor is that the cutoff was sometime around 12pm EST to be in that original allotment. I would take this with a massive grain of salt because I don't think AT&T has as good of a handle on its inventory as Apple does and it would also depend on the size and color you ordered. And NO ONE at AT&T, that you can call, knows either. All they are doing is looking at what time someone ordered and using that as a basis of when it will ship. Their systems say just as much as anything we can check online.
Sit back and relax. If you ordered early enough you will get your phone on Friday.

yep. same thing. rep told me phones will be shipped on the 21st. but mine will ship later than 21 (probably october. i didn't make it in the cut off time).
