Ordered a 16gb black at 1:52am Hawaii time (4:52am Pacific) on the 14th. The (only) e-mail I received says it's reserved and should arrive as soon as Sep 21. However when I pull up the Order Status Results page on the computer it says date ordered is 15 Sep which is not correct. Status is "In Progress", QTY backordered is 1 and Tracking Number says Pending Shipment. If I pull up the Order Status using the link in the e-mail it says order date is 14 Sep. Doesn't make me too optimistic but from past experience it could very easily arrive Friday even if the web site isn't updated. I have a pending CC purchase from AT&T in my account with a posted date of 17 Sep. I think calling them is just a waste of time and the best thing to do is wait. It's amusing to me how people are trying to cancel their orders and go about it another way because they might not get their phones on the release date.

That is exactly my situation too. But some days there are things that require me to be there. As long as they require a signature and won't just leave it, if it's not Friday, I'd rather be able to just pick it up.
CSS sent to different email than order confirmation
I just checked my hotmail email and my customer service summary went there instead of the comcast address on my account. It also only lists that I signed a new contract effective 9/14 but does not have info about a data plan, I chose the $20 one to start off with. I had turned off the data plan on my blackberry a couple years ago and never put it back on. Is it not on there because I haven't activated the new phone yet? The data plan is listed on the original order confirmation.

Now.....the pending charge has been released and put back in my available balance.

I had the same thing happen except my available balance did not go back up but that just means they haven't actually charged the card yet. It's still Tuesday. If the charge shows back up, then I think they will actually be shipping.
Weight says .2 lbs, thats odd. HOpe its not just the sim lol. My ups tracking has my package a 2lbs.
I'm not buying it.....I thought AT&T uses Fedex?

i think it's because pending charges can't stay on hold forever. i think it has a limited amount of days that if it wasn't cleared, it will be removed. and at&t will charge you again if this happens? i think? i'm not sure. i'm no banker.

So after reading and reading ppl repeat themselves I'm getting a good feeling I might get it Friday, the only thing that makes me anxious is the fact that my 16gb white is still showing 1 under backordered. You'll get yours 2 weeks late if you ordered after 8am pst, you can quote me on that
When a device goes from 1 backordered to 0 it means that they currently have one accountable for you.
Devices seem to be shipping from both China and the States, with most 16GB apparently already being here. If your 16GB is indeed here, and not fresh off a Chinese factory, it is very plausible that you will get it Friday, as AT&T uses overnight shipping, so even if shipped on Thursday, it will get to you Friday.
Ordered mine at ATT store 9:00 EST on the 14th. I was told I'd have the phone delivered to my house on the 21st. ATT site has my progress has processing and back ordered and the credit card is still showing temp auth. Got a feeling I'm not gonna be seeing that phone for a while.
