$50 ibooks sold out fast

I live in Henrico county, and I went to the sale this morning when the line formed at 7am. There were easily 3,000 people there (maybe more), and by 7:30am they had already admitted all the people they needed into the complex -- I never even got close.

and that was just with residents of the county. can you imagine what it would have been like if they had opened it up to everyone?

They are doing it again next year because the lower grade students are still using the Ibooks this upcoming school year.

I will not even bother.

What was terrible was that there was no line!!!!!! Sure they were in line format but when those gates opened it was like that scene from Enemy of the Gates where 1 russian would get a gun and the other would get ammo.

so they all sold then i presume??? :(

Not yet but they are still plenty of people on line.

One lady came out and her ibook looked disgusting ( the case itself, don't know about the functionality)

RICHMOND, Virginia (AP) -- A rush to purchase $50 used laptops turned into a violent stampede Tuesday, with people getting thrown to the pavement, beaten with a folding chair and nearly driven over. One woman went so far to wet herself rather than surrender her place in line.

IM GLAD I DIDNT GO!

A $50 laptop is not worth people getting physically hurt and trampled over. The hospital visit will be worth much more than that. So much for security. Thank God He was protecting me from that incident, because Lord knows I would have gone down there.

HILARIOUS :D

Here's hoping they spend some of that time learning crowd control.

There's no excuse for this sort of stampede to have happened. Shame on the people there, but moreso shame on the crew managing the event for letting it happen.
