Yep, same here, can’t run anymore… so for me the distance challenge is no motivation.
I’ve never seen a cycling challenge in the 5+ years of using an AW but there could have been for others of course…
To me it just feels that the monthly challenges have had no update since the watch came out, which is, well, lame.
6 HW iterations, 6 major OS versions… maybe we need to provide some collective feedback to Apple

But I'm still just a lab rat, working for my food pellets.

And, at the Pearly Gates: I can't be dead! I still have 11,000 calories to burn for the month to get my award!!!

Turns out this is the same as my June challenge, which I was just able to meet.

Since I want to get in long (12 - 14 mile) runs on the weekends to get ready for the Air Force Half Marathon next month, I have incentive to meet this goal, apart from the actual goal itself.
When I had specific running goals, the monthly challenges sometimes didn't work right for me, in particular when I was training to complete a half marathon. I've done an extra 5k at 11 pm to hit the challenge, but anymore, if it helps me, great, but I'm not _quiet_ as stressed about it now.

That is what WE think 🙀🙀
And what they (cats) know. Tell you don't lose track of time and spacial awareness when your black cat with those hypnotic eyes looks you in the eye.

"jz0309, you will will push yourself to work harder this month and take the extra money to shower me in the luxuries I deserve. I will now clap my paws together, and when you come out of your trance you will not remember having this conversation..." 🙀

So as I need to get back on it, I’ve really pushed myself and hit this today.

Question. As my August challenge is double your move goal 30 times, why didn’t this count as two? I’ve been robbed!

Last month my challenge was to walk 155 miles. I did 145. How annoying to miss it by such a small amount.

This month I have to double the move goal 10 times.
Same. At first I thought they wanted me to do it everyday this month. No way would I want that.

No accusations here, but I met someone who 'closed their rings every day', and found out that their Move goal was 250. I mean, I could make that goal practically getting out of bed. I laughed... They looked a little guilty, a little miffed, and I think a little 'sheepish'...
It’s all relative. Mine is 440. Not the biggest. Not the smallest. I’m happy with the results I’m seeing.

Close all three rings 28 times this month.

On work days, closing all 3 is a piece of cake!
On days off...well now that's a bit of a challenge!

OMG! PREACH!!!

I had a job where I was on the road, and on my feet, mostly, from the moment I left to the moment I returned. I would BURY my stand goal, and often swamped my move goal, but the weekends was slim picken's. Saturdays, I would flip the TV on, and watch the cartoons until I passed out, and woke up around 1P when the 'adult shows' started. (BOO!!!) And I realized that I still had 90% of my goals to go. Dedicated or stupid. Some days, that's a tough question...

And that's all that counts. Mine is 740, and I have fought myself to not lower it. I met someone who had a 1,100 goal, and passed it every day. You WHAT? REALLY? How?

It *should* be no judgement. If I get to push myself a couple of times a week, I feel accomplished. I'm not the fastest, but I'm not dead yet...

Haha I know whatcha mean! Every other week, I do 3 12-hour shifts and then have the other 4 days off. Those 3 days, I can get 16 stand hours and then completely obliterate the exercise goal because my "walk" at work is more of a speed walk and then of course the occasional run is thrown in there when I need to get to a room quick! The other weeks are full of 8 hour days. I can still knock out all 3 rings each day during those weeks. On days off, the one I can most reliably close is my stand goal. Calorie and exercise rings get closed if I'm lucky.

Guess I'll have to put in extra effort this month 😂

My Move ring is at 760, and if I can get in at least a 4 mile run then I can usually get all 3 rings (Exercise is 30 minutes).

It helps that we recently got a nice spin bike, that is giving me more calories and noticeably more exercise minutes then the entry level reclining/recumbent bicycle machine I had before. Once I get enough sets with the new spin bike and see what my Exercise Ring numbers turn out, I will likely increase the Exercise ring.

But as long as your rings help you get your exercise goals, then the ring numbers are not as important as your good / better health. 👍

I think that the exercise ring is set to 30 minutes, and that's all you get. I do not think it's adjustable, at least that is what I was told a few years ago. I found it odd, but I guess the Move Goal is basically measuring the same thing, from a different point of view. I think the only thing you can change the goal of is the Move goal. I mean, what else can masochists do, but punish themselves. *GUILTY* (My Move Goal was once nearly 900. What? No pain, no pain, but then I got tired of all the pain?)

I think watchOS 7 changed that, you can set it to as low as 15 min, don't know what the max is, same for the stand ring ... they've been locked at 30min and 12 for so long, I never bothered to change them ...

Yeah, if your goal isn't at least 275 PFFFTTTT!
