iBooks.

(How else would Steve want us to read it?)

Listen, I respect Steve and I will keep his family in my prayers, but I'm not going to change my reading or consumption habits because "Steve would have wanted it that way." He was just a man.

I'm talking about being bumped up to the end of October instead of the end of November. That was done today.

Because he died yesterday. Isaacson (the author) said that the original publishing date (sometime in January or February 2012) was just a placeholder, and it was always intended to come out in November. I assume they chose that date because they figured he would have passed away by then, or would be very close to it. When that came to fruition yesterday it obviously makes more sense to move it up to a closer date, because that's what Steve would have wanted- Steve hated 'wait times' and he would want everyone to have this book as soon as possible.

I don't read books....but I'm reading this. People like Jobs are rare enough as it is, but being able to get a front row seat into their lives and thoughts right up to the very end, that's simply impossible to overlook.

This book should be required reading for seniors in high school.

Did you not read my previous comment- this is exactly what I said. I am all for the book being released earlier.

Steve approved this book and I think if he were around he'd want it bumped up if logistically possible to give some comfort to people. The book was going to sell anyway, I don't see the big deal.

I never preorder ANYTHING, and I just Pre ordered this. Been waiting on this book, good to see they upped the release date, can't wait.

I also preordered hard cover from Amazon, but unlike the most of you I have to wait. I am not in US, so the shipping will take time.

It is very sad he passed away so early.

I'm not kidding at all. This is one occasion where you should definitely support the iBooks store over Amazon.

If you don't read this on your iPad or iPhone you are disrespecting this man. :)

You just picked 2 of the most painful forms of "reading" devices.

I'll stick to my kindle, you know, the device that doesnt cause eye strain and headaches after prolonged use.

I wil but this now...

From the iBooks bookstore, in honor of Steve.

They should release it with a FREE digital copy like DVDs. Buy a hardcover book and get a free iBooks download. I want it on both but am not willing to purchase the digital copy, so give it to me with my physical copy…

Thats exactly what I want. Just pre ordered the hardcopy but I really want it on my iPad as well for the times I don't want to carry too much.

Time stopped the presses on their Friday issue and are doing a special issue with Steve on the cover and an article by Isaacson. I'll be picking up a copy.

I personally find the iPad very acceptable for reading - if you turn down the brightness a touch.

I was always in the 'paper books are better' camp until I read something via iBooks that I couldn't get in physical form. Since then, I find iBooks preferable to physical books.

That said, I definitely couldn't read on an iPhone - screen way too small.
