I have to say the Ceramic Edition is not ready for primetime with the defects I've seen on my Watch after 5 days and literally 3 band swaps.

Im glad I realized this before the 14 day return period. The Edition goes back and now I'm just waiting for my Hermes to be delivered.
Seriously you have a couple of marks on your watch constitutes you saying the watch is not really for prime time. That is ridiculous.

How did you attempt to clean the slots? I cant figure out a way to get the grime off. If it doesnt come off id be very disappointed because you can see it along the edge when I have the sport band on.

On my Gold Sport watch, I've used those small alcohol prep pads you can get in a drug store. Stick the pad through the slot in the end, push down a little, and rub back and forth. It cleaned up the grime that was in there. Surely a little alcohol wouldn't affect the ceramic.

BETA testers. He proves my point.

Also, the return policy is no questions asked so the dude is exercising his/her right.

I completely agree with you. This is a BETA tester type of product. The problem is that its $1,299. I had an original Apple Watch SS and never had an issue like this and that was only $699. I switched the bands hundreds of times. I literally only switched the bands 3 times with the Edition Watch.

What I meant when I said, "Be glad I'm not in charge of returns," was, "If you brought this to me and said it was a problem, I'd try my hardest to not laugh in your face while I cleaned out the marks myself and handed it back to you."

Haha it's a beta product because you don't know how to clean it. That is hilarious. Is the jet black iPhone a beta product as well because it make get micro scratches on it? Serious go return the watch and move on. You don't need this Watch, and you obviously have no idea how to clean it. Go back to you SS that I bet had scratches all over it. I know mine did and I took really good care of it. I guess it was a beta as well since I babied it and it still go attached. Beta my a**. It's called user doesn't know how to take care of his $1300 purchase.

Is anyone surprised? You're spending $1300 to basically be a beta tester for a new material that apple is looking to explore.

What do you mean by beta tester? You meant Apple shouldn't release new material? If you're talking about that guy's grime inside the watch, here we have cleaning cream that can easily taking care of that.

Its not cleanable. I tried q-tips, cotton balls, a magic eraser, etc. Its simply a flaw in the Ceramic design. You dont have to be rude about this because I know how to clean a watch LOL. I am happily waiting on my Hermes SS watch Series 2. I liked the Cermaic but at the end of the day it doesnt even compare to the Hermes watch.

Not being rude, trying to understand your thought process here. There is a flaw in the Ceramic because you could not get it off? You call it a beta tester watch because again you got something on it, and you could not get it off? Now it doesn't even compare to the Hermès. How is that? It's an SS with a Hermès band. What makes it that much better?

Oh and you never answered my first questions. Is the new jet black iPhone a beta material too? Also what about that SS you have? It has some scratches on it right? Must be beta material.

I thought the pictures looked pretty awful myself. The other side of the Watch is even more noticeable. I swapped bands 3 times in 7 days. I never imagined a $1,299 Watch would show such wear for such a scratch proof material.
I don't think the ceramic case has marked or worn. It's more likely to be a residue of material from the strap itself.

I've owned a ceramic cased watch for 18 years and there have been many occasions when I feared it was scratched but every single time it was just a mark from the material it had come into contact with which could be easily rubbed off.

But this is a beta material from Apple. It's not ready for prime time, it's marked up from only switching the band out 3 times. The Hermes or SS would never do this.

I totally agree with you. I think whatever strap was put on left the mark, and it just needs to be clean. What kind of ceramic watch do you have?

A Junghans Mega Solar. The main case is highly polished like the Apple Watch Edition and the bezel has a matte finish but both are scratch free after years of use.

Nice! That is an amazing looking watch. What kind of band are you rocking? Seriously that looks amazing.

Nice looks really good. Still trying to find the perfect combo for my AW Ceramic.
Getting the correct coating for making high quality white buckles and lugs seem to be the problem as polished stainless steel doesn't match well in my opinion. Is it a ceramic pin in the strap that is supplied with the Edition watch?

Yeah the pin is the Ceramic white in the sports band. I don't mind the stainless steel with the Ceramic, but I know some people don't like it at all. A lot of people like the Milanese loop with it in black. I think it looks good, but I have not pulled the trigger on buying it.

I don't know, it's for sure much harder to find bands that look with the Ceramic then the SS. I still love the look of it.

After a long deliberation, I placed an order for a ceramic 38mm Apple Watch early this morning. Upgrading from a stainless steel model. Still not sure I made the right decision, as I alternate between loving the look in some photos and worrying that it just looks like plastic in others.

The estimate was 2-3 weeks for delivery, and the confirmation email says Oct 18-21, which is significantly longer than the estimate. Very disappointed in that.
So despite getting the estimate mentioned above, the watch just shipped! Less than 24 hours from when I placed the order. Will be here Tuesday.

Well you really mean the apple watch because the only physical difference between the Hermes watch and the Alum/SS AWs is the etching... I understand people paying premium for name but we can all admit the Hermes watch and Nike watch are just branding in terms of physical qualities.

He just got mad because his edition got grim on it and he could not figure out how to get it off. Now somehow the Hermès is such a better AW and totally worth the premium it cost. He makes complete sense.
