also, if a true widescreen video ipod is coming, I am pretty sure will be at least $450, more than $100 if you compare the top of the line ipod. Right there, there is a distinction.

That would fit perfectly with the wonderful 30th anniversary Macintosh that Apple released...MrFirework said:Why is no one bringing up the upcoming 5 year anniversary of the iPod as a release date ...
Is there some grand reason the anniversary is out of the question?
That's been demo'd at IDF this year... A Passat that had on onboard system that used Wimax to show multiple streams of movies/etc from a UMPC with Wimax.bankshot said:I couldn't care less about video, and wireless syncing is likely to be too slow to be useful. However, it recently occurred to me that there's a killer application for wireless in the iPod, and I hope Apple doesn't miss the boat here. They've been going on and on about how so many car manufactures offer iPod integration kits now, but every one of those requires you to pull the iPod out of your pocket/bag/whatever and plug it into the car. It's still kind of a pain.
Imagine having audio wirelessly sent to your car's stereo. The iPod is in your pocket, you're listening on headphones as you walk up to your car.

I see Apple continuing selling the current version for $249 and $349 and then offering this bigger brother for $449 and would come with the screen the full length of the iPod as we have seen countless mockups. Would it have more than an 80GB drive? Possibly. But I think we'll just see one model with the bigger screen and it might have a bigger hard drive.
I would bet, though, that Apple does not get rid of what's been working for them. The 5.5G is safe... for now.

Edit: "true" video as in it has a really big drive and is widescreen.

iPod schuffle
iPod nano

iPod X (X being a real cool marketing name)
the iPod X will be the 'True Video iPod'

jellomizer said:There has been much talk about this "True" Video iPod. Isn't there already a Video iPod? What makes it True vs. Fake. I know there have been rumors and Photoshop mockups on what others think should be the True Video iPod and they show patents that Apple file. But I am not sure I want to replace the Scrool Wheel with a touch screen, I do like having tactile feedback on where my hand is, as well you can really smuge up the screen you are looking at, and it is easy to loose that little stylist. While I am waiting for a Core 2 Duo Mac Book Pro and I may get an iPod for me at the same time. I am not sure what we would be really missing with the true video iPod except for shorter battery life and a smugged screen.

Great for any presentation at corporate, education or domestic markets.
