I almost feel sorry for Microsoft these days. They need to quickly find someone's good idea and steal it so they can overtake Apple again.

Edit: I spose to make it seem less like a troll post, my point is that in my decade and a half of using Macs and PCs (all versions, Mac OS 7 and Windows 95 onwards), I have never seen Microsoft do anything that wows me. Usually just a half-baked implementation of something Apple did a year ago.

I think Microsoft is past stealing other people's good ideas. The last few times they have tried, they have failed. Microsoft's best solution is to re brand Google's products.

Windows 7 Personal fixes this.

Personal jet backpacks. The design is easy. The hard part is fueling them. It takes quite a bit of energy. If you carry enough fuel for a long flight, it weighs too much and won't get off the ground.

Windows 7 Pro fixes this.

Cure for the common cold, I have three cures myself. The problem is they at best are as bad as the cold. At worst, they will kill you.

Windows 8 will have no problems with viruses. Cross my heart.

Microsoft programmers can be very inventive. Yet their management often seems bent on stifling innovation, due to division in-fighting.

For instance, canning the Courier. Heck, half its software was available for download from Microsoft Labs. They could've at least let it continue as an R&D project.

Sharp has even announced a graphics chip designed for dual-screen booklets.

So many blown opportunities.

Steve Ballmer is one stupid idiot, he just doesn't seem to get mobile computing at all and no matter what he says or do Windows 7 will not make a good tablet OS no matter how scaled down you make it. what are you going to do Ballmer? Make a Zune with a 10" screen??? You still think people want to use a stylus on a smartphone?? I am surprised you haven't been fired yet!

Steve balmer is an idiot. He's just making a half assed product to compete with apple and relying on hope that it will work out. If he was even REMOTELY smart, he wouldve had the tablets run the Zune HD's os. As much as i love apple, the zune HD is much better than the ipod touch, such a slick OS.(too bad no one bought them LOL) But no, theyre dumb and will use windows 7. Seriously, Windows mobile has and always will suck, and W7 on a netbook/ tablet is garbage.

It's a half assed product, and what's more pathetic, is that the iPad is half assed as well. But atleast it works great.

lol @ the apple fans , I'm looking forward to see what PC tablets have to offer.. It would be neat to run a real OS...

I am looking forward to it as well. I always enjoy watching Microsoft spend millions in marketing and hype to just have their products crash and burn (Zune comes to mind).

It is really "neat" how Ballmer stands in this picture with his conservative clothes showing off the new "champion".

[IN] Windows 7 can easily run on a small device which is sleek. Microsoft has probably spent years of research in developing such a device...
The battery will not drain like crazy, because Windows 7 is specifically designed for this very "new" device. And the user interface is already so advanced that it could not possibly be any better..

I doubt then new version of office for mac will be anything to write home about. Having not seen the current beta, I may be totally wrong. At this point, they will have to work to sell me back on their product as I have completely switched over to iWork.
