This is BOA we're talking about. These are the same people that were foreclosing on people who had never missed a payment, were foreclosing on the wrong houses, etc..

Stop being such a spineless apologist. This is people's money. If Apple want to get in the business of replacing people's wallet they damn well better make sure they do it properly.

What a load of ****. You're implying perfection - an impossibility. Jesus even people still go ahead and drive on freeways even though the risk of dying is always present.

Yet a complex system is rolled out where Apple is working with multiple banks (each with their own systems) and all that's happened is people get double charged (which can be rolled back) and you're calling someone reasonable an apologist?

That sucks. Honestly though I have apple pay enabled. I haven't used yet, but whenever I do, it will be on a small purchase. To bad it doesn't work at publix.

Seriously. I had BoA charge double for every purchase one cycle. I was so nervous sending in a check for half a bill thinking they would sock me with interest. It all worked out however.

How is this not the first use case test?

Millions of transactions have gone through without a problem. 100 have had a problem. It seems like it WAS tested, and works fine, just a minor issue needs to be worked around.

But, of course, this will be blown out of proportion. And, of course, nothing has ever gone wrong with Google Wallet, right?

Look at this Google Wallet mess (security bug that affects 100% of users where someone can view your credit card number).... hmmm... is this worse or not? Are people still using Google Wallet or were they scared away because of this?

Apple Pay Glitch Causes SOME Bank of America Customers to Be Charged Twice for Purchases

I've been using Apple Pay for three days with BofA with no issues. Quit with the sensationalized bullcrap.

Sure, no problem for the poor people who have to try to resolve this. Apple doesn't test any of their buggy software anymore. Instead they just call it beta.

If you had an education and knew anything about software, you would know software bugs don't show up 100% of the time. Go back to mom's basement.

lol

We've designed Apple Pay to unapologetically charge you twice for purchases so you can receive twice as many rewards points. It's rather remarkable isn't it? When you think you're paying once for a purchase but you're actually paying twice. That's the power and simplicity of Apple Pay. - Jony

I can never read these without his voice, just like Morgan Freeman ones.

When you roll out a whole new system with lots of players, you have to expect some hiccups. Problems will be fixed. People will be refunded. There's no disaster here.

I've used Apple Pay twice so far and both times it worked flawlessly. The first at CVS where I didn't necessarily expect it to work. I just noticed an NFC receiver and tried it. The transaction finished and I was handed a receipt without pushing any buttons or signing anything. The second time was at the McDonald's drive thru. I asked the cashier if I could pay with my phone and he did look a little taken aback and said "I guess we can try it." He held the receiver out for me and the transaction was over before he realized it. Then he said, "Are you advertising for them or something?" Ha! So I assume I was the first person to try it at that drive thru. I told him I was just curious to try it out. In the drive thru, it probably would have been slightly faster and more convenient to just use a credit card because I had to ask him to hold out the receiver for me. But in most retail cases it seems to be faster and more convenient than credit cards.

Yesterday....

Opened up passbook...

Choose my "iTunes" payment method to serve as Apple pay credit card. Followed the steps and my Chase card automatically and correctly displayed itself in passbook. Took a whole 5 seconds to set up.

Went to Whole Foods... It worked flawlessly. In fact so easy it's crazy good.

An employee at Whole Foods said that APPLE techs were at their STORES helping get it launched....

Chase sent a confirmation that indeed I had set up a card to be used for Apple Pay...

Smooth and awesome. Very cool.

Before it starts, can we not keep using the word -gate after every bad thing related to apple? It makes no sense and has long outlived its welcome as a thing.

Nah, no possible. MR needs page views and getting a bunch of smart-you know what "it just works" comments does just that. ;) It's not surprising to me in the least that something as big as Apple Pay would have some glitches at launch.

Now where ARE all those posts about how android has done it for a year but apple came around and made it work.

Priceless.

apple is REALLY on a bad run, as of late. I'd feel sorry for them if they didn't have billions sitting in a bank. Offshore. Not paying American taxes.

OK I hear you but it sounds like its still happening to a significant amount of people to be called out.

It's not the first issue that has come up since the release of iOs and the iphone 6 and 6 plus.

All these little issues just don't instil a lot of confidence for me in apple. I being someone who is debating buying an iphone 6 like many others this doesn't help convince me to do so. Then again I'm Canadian and can't use apple pay nor do I really car to since I have NFC on my credit and debit cards anyway.

"Apple Pay Glitch Causes Bank of America Customers to Be Charged Twice for Purchases"

Are the people who were charged twice not customers of Bank of America? Yes. Nowhere does it say *BIG BOLD RED LETTERS* ALL *BIG BOLD RED LETTERS*

In fact. IT EVEN SAYS

"Some Bank of America customers have been running into a serious problem"

So quit it with your sensational complaining.

:apple: has nothing to do with :apple:Pay transactions. Please learn how :apple:Pay works people!

Well, other than being the company that invented it, they have nothing to do with it.

Also, you'd make your point better if you didn't write it in a large glaring font.
