DO NOT double-tap the TouchID for ApplePay! ApplePay is single-tap!

And for the love of your bank account, DO NOT go hog wild and tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap when your phone is hovering over the NFC reader. Such reckless behavior can result in financial ruin.

Now you all know, and you have no excuses. Spread the word.

Of all the missteps, with software especially, that Apple has had lately,
this is the one area where I was hoping that they would absolutely NOT eff up,
because this is people's money we're talking about.
Just ONE single mistake, and the word will be out among the masses: APPLE PAY DOESN'T WORK.

That's all they know, that's all they care about.
Now you and I know that that's complete & utter BS, but "Mr./Ms. Gadgetuser" doesn't.
And that's ApplePay's majority of users. Dopes who don't know a byte from a bagel.

Barely 2 days in, and Apple & the banks are already playing the "It's not our fault, it's thier fault!" game.
Who, now, would want to deal with this?
This has most definately not been Apple's fiscal quarter ....

This only happen when I put in my pin number, if I did it as credit then no double charges.

So does that mean it was done as debit?

Nice to have someone post with actual first hand experience with the issue rather than all the crap speculation. I tip my hat to you! :)

I still pay with cash. Sometimes swipe a debit card here and there. I'm sorry I see this stuff and laugh, it's all in fun though.

Let me take a photo of this bagel right quick to send to instagram to strangers to get some likes. BRB.

If this were Google Wallet, people would be dissing "buggy Android"

This still affects customer perception

Only anyone that didn't read the article and Google wallet probably did have some glitches like this, but it didn't get national press like Apple does plus this is a transaction error at the bank level.

In the end public perception is not the only factor in whether something is a success or not. And since there is enough money to fund the PR machine, this will be an easy perception issue to handle since it really works.

My guess is they don't use the POS NFC very much and when Apple Pay came out there was a big spike in usage of NFC thus causing the confusion.

Remember this is minimum wage personel we are talking about. Usually no training at all.

That's kind of my point, although I didn't make it clear. Who cares if they aren't trained, it still works, they don't need to be trained.

Not a confidence inspiring bug when handling peoples money. Apple sure has been shoveling the ammo over to the other side of the smartphone fence.

Weird, because every single year Apple users and customers have the highest customer satisfaction every single year, it sure does just work better and more consistently then really anything else

People who live in the Apple ghetto don't know what they're missing. Ignorance is bliss, and satisfying too, it seems.

Oh man all the rampant Android fanboys and ignorance in this thread...this is 100% on Bank of America's part, they are the only bank having this issue and they already said they are issuing a fix on the bank side of Apple Pay by Wednesday(today)

Apple fans are like a cult.

"You're tapping it wrong"???

I've made two charges so far, and neither has had any issues. While I don't doubt that others have been double-billed, I imagine that things will be worked out shortly. My suggestion would be that those who aren't comfortable "testing" the new service give it some time for the kinks to be worked out.

I wonder if this is related to why I received 2 email messages from Bank of America letting me know that I added my card to Apple Pay. I haven't tried using it yet as I haven't been in a store yet that uses NFC. But, I just removed my card from Passbook and re-added it again, just to be sure that I didn't do anything wrong the first time. And, I still received 2 emails from B of A.

Going to sit this one out until the fix is in place.

Or you could not be afraid of your own shadow. What do you think the chances are of you being double charged and not being able to recoup? Sure, you might have the hassle of having to call customer service but come on! What's the risk really??!!

Apple fans are like a cult.

Or I am just speaking logic and sense, while Android fanboys constantly try to ravage Apple and spread FUD as much as possible, I wonder if Android fanboys believe alot in their own delusion
