What is up with Detroit's pitchers to first and third base?!! 5 errors in a Series by the pitchers is a record Detroit doesn't want to be remembered by. STL back in the lead.

I like the Britney Spears tune as a transition to the ads.

The number of errors Detroit has made in this series is baffling. Their defense wasn't great this year (10th in the AL), but they have absolutely betrayed their primary strength (their pitching) throughout this series.

Unless they get on a heroic kind of roll, they don't deserve to win.

So far, my two favorite posters held up by STL fans in the stands:
"Here, kitty, kitty, kitty." and
"Hit it to the Pitcher" :D

STL Cardinals 2006 WS Champs!
And congrats to Little David E. :D
And I think Edmonds will be gone, next year.

Woooohoooo even though the Angels didn't make the playoffs, they still (sorta) won the World Series (again)! The Cards have Eckstein, Spiezio, Weaver, Edmonds (<-- all former Angels), and Bengie's and Jose's brother Yadier :D.

I still kinda wanted the Tigers to win though. They won the Series way back in 1984, and pretty much sucked up until this year, so I thought it would be cool to see them win for themselves, Detroit, and the fans.

I wanted a game 6 to see how Kenny Rogers was gonna pitch. Now he's off the hook for scuffing up the ball.

I'm so happy that the Cardinals won. Anything to keep the Tigers from winning the whole thing. Now I have to hope that my White Sox can beat the Tigers next year...

You should be worrying about the Twins ;)

Only late in the season. The Twins the past few years have taken some time to come on and then they just fail. And it all depends on if they can bring back that pitching, which the rumor is they're not going to be able to...

what an excellent way to close out the first season in the new ballpark!

And my new favorite image:

Well, I guess only one team doesn't fail. This year it would be the Card's. As far as the Twins in '06: American League Central Division Champs, AL Batting Champion, and (probable) AL Cy Young winner. I had a blast following them this year. Not my definition of failure

Why, is he a free agent?
His contract calls for a $10M option next season or a $3M buyout on the option. Edmonds has been verbal about it to the media, but the rumor mill has GM Walt Jocketty as not too happy about Edmonds' last two year's numbers and not at all happy that Edmonds has taken it to the media and fans. He's been a great player and debatably a HoF candidate, but the talk is that Jocketty and Co. will wave the option with a buyout in search of some young blood.

Meh.
I didn't really care who won, but I would've liked to see the series go on a couple of more games.
Sucks that the season is over.:(

Ok the seasons over, what was a long season and a boring World Series aside from "dirtgate". Where the favorites were out early and the underdogs faught for the finish. Time to fire up the Hotstove™ and get ready for spring.

How are 2 underdog teams who weren't supposed to make it this far a boring world series? To me, a boring world series is when a team like the Yankees, who you expect to win it, do win it.
