I’m not very impressed. Similar battery drainage as my iPhone 11. All settings are really tweaked well too. :-/
Post a battery usage chart with "SHOW ACTIVITY" selected. Might me helpful to understand your battery usage. There could be a lot of factors but won't know until you post your battery usage.

I would be concerned if it lost 4% battery each 20 mins. Overall, how has the battery life been on your phone?
It hasn’t been great, 4 hours of screen on time kills about 50%. I just try to go on it less, I use about an hour of Spotify. But that has been patched and it’s screen off. My screen time is all light use, kinda worried about actually using it for more tasks.

Is 5G Auto be worse than LTE? I feel like that could be a setting that isn’t living up to its description of possibly saving battery as well…
I guess it all depends on the strength of the cell signal that could affect the battery usage if the phone needed to find a good signal. Strictly speaking I have not seen awn extra battery drain. The other day, I was connected to 5Guw and used Apple Maps for about 40 mins and the battery dropped by 6%.

Both screen-on and screen-off time consumes battery. Have you tried doing a Settings->General->Reset->Reset All Settings? Maybe that would help. In standby how is the battery usage? I have seen people getting fantastic battery life on their 13 Pro. Can you posting your battery usage charts with "SHOW ACTIVUTY" selected. Show the apps as well, just the high usage apps.

If I reset all settings, what does that change? Or what settings will I have to readjust?

never mind, I read it on the Apple website. I am not sure if I feel comfortable losing all my saved settings and such. I feel like an iCloud restore is a better option?

I drained my battery to 0 percent. Let it turn off and then charge to 100%. Just wanted to try the old school method. I have a new 5 hours screen time with 45% left.

This will never get the satisfaction of a Max, but it’s still very good. I think the algorithm is a bit off with the software tho. It seems to be very inconsistent with how it drains.

My 13 pro max life is horrible.

There is something wrong with some combination of apps, or certain models, or something.
My battery life is nowhere near what others are seeing.

It does this every day. It really doesn't matter how much I use my phone, it drains at about the same rate whether there is 1.5, 3, or 6 hours of SoT.

I received my 13 Pro on launch day. The battery started to drain fast and run hot this weekend. Based on my usage, it has to be Safari that is causing the issue. I did a hard reset, cleared history and website data and downloaded AdGuard. Nothing seems to work. I called Apple Support. They did some trouble shooting and ran diagnostics. Everything checked out. They recommended that I bring it into to the Genius Bar for further review. Could it be a hardware issue? Ugh!

Strangely, my phone is now suddenly MUCH better on battery.
The last two days have been pretty good compared to before.

I didn't change anything, but a handful of apps updated that could have been the culprit.

Updated Apps:
3 Days Ago:
Duo Mobile

2 Days Ago:
HealthFit
Zoho Mail
Baby Connect
App Privacy Insights
Google Photos

Compared to my previous screen shot, the battery graph is much closer to what others are posting.
Ended the day with 63% instead of my usual 20-30%.

I’ve been seeing similar improvements too.

I just set up my iPhone 13 Pro on Monday night and am hoping it's just doing the indexing/set up process still because my battery so far has been identical to my 3 year old XS that had 94% battery health.

I do have an Apple Watch paired which I know can add to the drain, but I'm surprised a brand new phone being touted for battery improvements isn't a little better than this.

Screen on actually seems to be a slight improvement, but I'm seeing the same exact drain when it's idle (like at night).

It probably needs a few more days to settle in - I won't be too worried unless this keeps on happening next week.

One problem I keep having is with auto brightness. The screen is always too bright or too dim, mostly too bright, which contributes to battery drain.

I keep dragging the slider down hoping it will learn, but it doesn’t. Then I over compensate to about 20% brightness and then the next time I wake the phone, the screen comes on at about 5% and won’t brighten beyond that. Ugh.
In iOS 10 they changed the auto brightness to be way more aggressive, essentially ignoring any user input immediately after you manually change it. I've had auto-brightness turned off since then.

Do you have any recently updated apps that align with the ones I posted?
No, haha. I haven’t really been keeping track, aside from seeing that at the end of the day (6am to midnight off charger), I end with 50+ % and about 3-4h screen on time. I’m pretty happy with that, given I have the 13 Pro.

I think it’s a placebo effect, nothing magically just changed other than our human brains are just getting less obsession with it - it’s not getting any better. It is what it is. It’s a slightly improved battery over a regular iPhone 11.

I had an appointment at the Genius Bar yesterday. They couldn’t pinpoint any issues, so they gave me a new device. Works for me.

It isn't placebo.

See the screenshot below. My usage has stayed the same, but on Sunday/Monday something changed.
I went from ending the day around 25-30% to ending the day around 60%.

IOS 15 does not seem to be doing that for me. If I manually change it, the brightness will stay wither where I changed. But it will change if the lightning conditions change.

You don't want to do that often because it will stress the battery too much. There are other factors that can affect battery life such as the brightness level. I would not go by the screen-on and screen-off times shown in the battery usage charts. There reflect a moving 3 hour window and do not take into account when you charge the phone, they are strictly based on the 3 hour windows. I manually calculate the battery usage, adding up the individual bars in the graph after the battery is taken off the charger. Also, screen-off time consumes battery, so leaving that out can skew your real battery usage to come out higher. All screen-off time is, an app that is running in the background or you turning off the display when the app is running and showing on the display.

Honestly, I think the way that Apple is calculation the battery usage is garbage. They are using a moving 3 hour window than will overlap with when you charge your phone. Personally, I want to know my battery usage starting when the battery is taken off the charger. The 24 hour and 10 day don't give me that information.

I am experiencing battery drain and very warm device when using safari on my replacement 13 Pro. I even downloaded and activated AdGuard last week. Safari is definitely the culprit. Any suggestions?
