What did you notice re bad battery? Significant drainage?
Yeah. Down to 60% battery after just 2-2.5 hours screen time. Another exact same 13 Pro that’s also in the house would be close to 90% after the same usage. Very similar settings and brightness.

Must be some units or I am very lucky. My 13 Pro has been stellar with battery life. Hopefully it stays that way. Huge improvement over my Xs max.

How could this be possible? It would mean that the other Pro would make 20/25 hours of screen time, which is impossible. YouTube tests show around 8 hours with a full charge which should be 12,5% per hour with continued use

I’m at 23% now:

I just added up the blue bars manually and it comes to 5.35 hours.

Extrapolating, I could get to 6.9hr. This would be fine for me. The only thing that changed for me was installing 15.0.1

Crossing my fingers that this holds.

In the other daily battery thread one got 6 hours from a 13 pro and was at 45% battery (wifi only). Big difference, probably connectivity and apps matter a lot

6th day with my 13 Pro. Don’t have that crazy numbers. I guess being in Wi-Fi akk the time and connection quality is really important for the battery. I was out most of the week going back and forth to the work.

Today I'll switch to always wi-fi on at home and will do a reinstall of iOS, using the backup. If it doesn't work, will setup as new. Or I'll still have till Friday for a return.

Newly purchased iPhone 13 pro. restored from backup in my MacBook Pro.

I did a test yesterday by turning on airplane mode before going to sleep at 12 am with 98% battery, woke up at 8:30 am left with 89%.

I am pretty sure this is not normal. Has anyone tried to restore via other methods and see a difference? Or I need to wipe it out and start new which I really would like to avoid...

I did the same. One night with airplane mode. It lost 3% over 8hours. Without airplane mode it lost around 8%

im not sure if it’s normal or not. I played a movie via the TV app. It burned through 8% for just over 1hr 35 mins which seems on par with the 20 hours of streaming it is advertised as. It’s interesting

3% is a lot more acceptable. Yours indeed sounds on par with the advertised.

I’ve got a normal sim and experience same drop. Was going to exchange phone but do younthink it’s more software. Seen no other complaints anywhere.
Hey bro it looks like 15.0.1 had solved my battery woes. My phone has been on standby for a few hours and hasn't dropped 1% yet. On 15 it would have easily dropped at least 5%. I also switched from Esim to regular sim

It's definitely not normal. Did you update to 15.0.1?

Is that from 100% charge?

So I’ve had my phone for 8 days and it’s still draining noticeably faster than my 11 pro did. At what point do I become concerned and take it in?

Any example of this? Mine goes down roughly 1% every few minutes when doing minor tasks like browsing preferences or using safari/whatsapp briefly. Thinking about returning it yeah. Tomorrow I'll switch off my Watch, put the phone in no disturb and let it play a 10 hour long YouTube video

Im thinking that if you’re doing active screen touching, like constant scrolling in the OS, apps or safari, the battery will decrease at a faster rate then we expected. Due to the 120hz refresh rate. However if you’re watching content that is at 60fps or 24fps then battery drain is lower. This would make sense because we all know the higher refresh rate the more power the phone consumes. It would also make sense because that’s how Apple highlighted all battery life claims. All pertaining to video. Which is interesting because up until recently it was quite the opposite. Watching video would drain your battery faster then poking around the settings. I’m not saying people don’t have software or hardware issues (I had a hardware issue), but it’s definitely something to be mindful of in our expectations. So perhaps you won’t hit those long battery times if you primarily surf the web or scroll a lot, but mostly with video.

I find it interesting that I haven’t seen this concept mentioned any phone review.

Yea basically the same thing here

That's the way my 12 Pro Max was. I'd test it out over a full 24 hours. Charge the phone to 100 percent and then not touch it for 24 hours. In airplane mode it would be at 97 percent. With wifi and cellular on it would drop to 92 percent.
With the battery king...the 11 Pro Max...I could take it off the charger at 100 percent and not touch it for 15 or 16 hours and I would only lose 1-2 percent max.

I charged my 13 Pro Max to 100 percent yesterday and haven't touched it until right now and it's been 24 hours with wifi and cellular both on and it's at 93 percent. I guess that's not bad but I expected an improvement with the new and bigger battery. So far the battery life has appeared to be just about exactly the same as the 12 Pro Max.

Sadly I have to say: Count me in.
I don´t trust this battery. Going down too fast.
The whole last year with my 12 I charged only between 20 and 80% and my iPhone thanked me with 100% battery health after one year.
Now I leave home with 100% and charge in my office to get through the evening.
Got the 13pro last friday, so indexing and so on must be finished.
First time battery problems ever since 2012 - my first iPhone(5).

I would not hesitate to do a fresh setup and I know how to, but I´m too afraid to lose my streaks.
My whole effort this year would go to hell. This must not happen.
The hard reset did the magic. It is better now. Not AS good as Apple promise, but nearly as good as my 12 from last year. I´m really relieved.

Just did an hard reset just because, it was super fast but took 4% battery 😳 next regular reboot took 1%. Oh well let's see

Tried that, I shouldn't have. I now have the stuck battery percentage bug. Will try charging to 100% before restoring it again as new
