Thats gotta be disappointing for 3 cycles:confused:

I am not sure how accurate my readings are but they show the same in both coconut battery and battery health monitor. I know up until about christmas my current capacity was always higher than my original capacity (about 102%).

Well I think that coconut battery is just displaying the info from the battery health monitor in the System Profiler so they should read the same.

I guess it all depends on how accurate the readings are. In reality any measurement without an estimate of the uncertainty is meaningless.

People reporting greater than 100% capacity and me with a 2% drop in 3 cycles on the first day. I am not sure it is actually real.

I meant this software not the system profiler, bit they probably all just get their info from the profiler anyway.

Oh cool. Yeah I guess they do. There seems to be a lot of battery measuring software about. Most concur with one another but I have noticed that iStat Pro often displays different information to coconut battery so it may be getting the info from somewhere else. No idea where though...

I don't have a MBP, but battery gauges are at best 2-3% accurate (They are *not* using 0.01% accurate resistors in there, I can tell you that!). So take those numbers with a +/-5% grain of salt.

Mine's always been effed up. By 1300 I believe it means 13000, but I still have 100% health after a year (my MBP was "a month old" before I got it for some reason, that's why it says 13 months instead of twelve.

Bottom line, Coconut Battery isn't terribly accurate.

At least your's displays the RIGHT info. My 17" uMBP 3.06ghz, 8gb ram, etc... shows the age of my Mac at 123 months  Which is obviously not correct, considering I bought it new on Jan 23 2010. :p

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't AppleCare cover battery replacement?

Yes they do. They replaced my battery under applecare last Friday. If the battery is defective and the health deteriorates much quicker than it should sometimes it is possible to get a replacement even when not under applecare.

For the 2010 MBP 13'' Owners - Whats your battery like

At 100%, how many hours is yours saying with 1/2 brightness and normal internet usage? Do you think yours is above, below, or average?

Mine initially said 10hours, but after calibration its down to 6-7 hours....

Avg or slightly below I guess

mine normally says 7-8 hours but in usage i achieve 9+ everytime web surfing, mail, iphoto, and some itunes.

videos i get around 7 hours.

6-7 hours of mixed internet browsing and word processing, with wi-fi on, bluetooth and keyboard lights off, and brightness at 75-80%.

Mine says 5 hours. But I haven't tested it.

I guess I screwed up during the calibration... :\

The battery icon estimates 6 hours running: Tweetie, iTunes, Chrome, Wi-fi on, BT off, brightness on lowest visible.

Here are my unibody macbook stats after 7 months old:

Charge Information:
Charge remaining (mAh): 5103
Fully charged: Yes
Charging: No
Full charge capacity (mAh): 5203
Health Information:
Cycle count: 30
Condition: Normal
Battery Installed: Yes
Amperage (mA): -951
Voltage (mV): 12353

I called the yayhoo's (for lack of a better term) at apple and asked them about my battery. The tech I talked to said my battery was a actually doing pretty good. What he said is that some batteries come with more of a charge to begin with (my starting capacity was 5,450) and some come with lower charges.

For example, someone could start out using their macbook at 5,203 mAh (what mine is currently at) while others will start at a higher level. The one's that start at a higher level will seem to degrade faster in the beginning, but once they settle into a more normal range, they will begin to stay at a constant rate.

Hope that helps at all :p

Edit: I forgot to mention, my macbook does seem to have more accurate/better health reading the more I use the battery. All in all, it's just like you. It needs constant exercise to be healthy. From my personal experience, I would almost recommend giving it a little bit of a "workout" every other day at least.

I'm not sure what mine says at 100% because its at 21% now but with Wifi on BT off screen brightness 1/4 of the way up keyboard half way up just chrome open wit one or two tabs open I get 8-9 hours of use.

Looks like this new batts are a bit picky, mine is 10 cycles old, with capacity ranging from 96% to 99%. It looses about 2% every 24 hours without use, but it's giving 6 to 7 hours of normal use...

Trust me, I feel the same way, and I'm sure there's quite a few others who are in the same boat we are. I hope someone sheds a little light on the situation

I feel like im getting less and less.. like 5 hours now... and coco is showing 99%... which is fine... somehow my mbp is using more power than normal, any tips? any apps to uninstall or something?
