Hello! The fall detection is active. But I do not think that justifies such a bad battery performance. It does not make sense to also have a smartwatch with so many features and have to turn everything off so the battery can only last 1 day.

Turning it off made the battery last longer in my case by almost 20%. It could be something they might correct in a future update but for now it seems to drain the battery more.

“Wrist detection” might be at fault here. I’ve noticed that when you leave the Watch flat with the band touching the back, it’d trigger a heart rate which keeps running constantly. Try laying it on the side and see if it drains at the same rate.

Surely it will only do that if unlocked?

Mine has been freakishly battery thrifty over the past week.

4 hours 24 minutes and still at 99% battery. But typically it'll do 2 days with 20-30% left after 48 hours.

This is the series 4 LTE version - but not using LTE.

EDIT: And here is another set of screenshots at the end of the 1st day....

I can’t say for sure if it was locked or unlocked at the time. But I did notice the Watch trying to get a heart rate while it was placed on the table. They probably fixed it in the recent updates as I’m yet to notice it.

Hello. Is your fall detection active?
[doublepost=1542720565][/doublepost]I turned it off and I'm going to take the test. Thanks for the suggestion!

Do you have a screenshot close to 2 days?

The best performance I've achieved so far was when it lasted 1 day and 8 hours on standby and 7 hours of use. Now I have 96% battery and only 2 hours and 34 minutes standby (21 minutes of use). I switched off the fall detector and automatic exercise detection, only use in theater mode and there is also no background update. Battery only gets worse ...

I'm not sure what the problem is.

If you have 96% battery with 2 hours and 34 minutes standby (21 minutes use), that will give you around 62 hours at that rate until you need to charge.

It only takes about 2 hours to charge the watch from empty to full.

The further away from the 100% battery, the greater the drainning of it. Battery drop is not linear. Your calculation does not apply. If it worked, I would have this performance you said, but it is not what happens. In sleeping tracking for example, I see that people get on average 8 hours on standby and consuming only about 7% of battery power. I lost 4% in 2.5 hours without messing with practically anything.

You might be right. I have noticed that it does seem to drain faster the further away it is from 100%, so my math is wrong.

That said, with everything turned on, I can get close to 3 full days on a charge sometimes. I tend to just charge it for an hour or so while I'm in the shower though every day and it's never an issue for me.

Not yet. Here it is after 28 hours though. Looks like it will have no trouble hitting 2 days.

I've seen mine at 41% while on 1 day 10 hours on Standby. They usually tend to drain faster below 50%. Wondering if you could provide a screenshot close to the 2 day mark?!

I wear mine nearly all the time. Typically I put it in "do not disturb" mode while asleep, as the chimes and vibrations will wake me up.

Will do. It just hit 49% right now.

Anyone notice a difference with Wi-Fi on or off with the Apple Watch cellular model? Better or worse battery with Wi-Fi on?

Without a workout I now end the day with 75-80% on my S4 40mm on 5.1.1.

Background app refresh is all on as is fall detection.

However. The killer is the heart rate monitor. With a workout it will loose 10% per hour.

I also ran cardiogram with constant logging and that would eat the battery at the same rate. After a few hours it was at 40%.

My previous s3 42mm could run cardiogram all day with loads left.

While the watch may be more efficient the heart monitor is still a monster.

I'm running HeartWatch, and have great battery. However, I don't think HeartWatch is doing any increased heart rate logging unless I launch the app. It does show me the last heart rate measurement on the complication of the new watch faces, which the stock complication didn't.

Cardiogram is the same but you can enable constant logging. Which pretty much just starts a workout.

75-80% at the end of a day? Wow, I don’t think any of my watches - Series 1, 3 & 4 have ever consistently had that much battery life at the end of the day.
