Do you mind posting the usage details? Cuz I think it could do better than that.

I'd love to but my mother in law is in Arizona and I'm all the way up here in BC, Canada. I got her to disable a bunch of background apps and notifications. I'll report back to see if this helps.

Background Refresh? ✅
Raise to Speak? ✅
Raise to Wake? ✅

All of which shouldn't be draining the battery as much.

Had it only since Sunday. Replaced the 44mm that I've found too big.
Battery life was poor even without installing any apps.
Lost another 7% in 45 mins since my last post.

Will try to un-pair and re-pair.
[doublepost=1542003101][/doublepost]Turned of anything and everything that could possibly drain my battery and I’d be lucky if I get a full 6 hours of battery life with no activity. Even my first gen 44mm gives be at least 24hrs with a ton of activity. I’ve had the watch for about 3days. Took it to apple and the brought it back with no difference.

Did you set it up as new?
What third party apps are you running?

I initially didn’t. Then read some tips online. Unpaired it with my phone and the reset both my phone and watch then set them up as new. ( did this at home and at the apple store) problem was still there. The only apps I’m running on the watch now are the apps that come with it. Turned off background refresh., equipment detection etc and almost all other functions of the watch . Even tried it on airplane mode and only got a few extra minutes. Apple store took it for 3 days and returned it with the same issue. Only reason I have not returned it is cos I list the reciept. I’m not sure how long people had to wait to get battery life but after 4 days I’m kinda irritated. Even my first gen lasted a whole day and some with much more apps and usage

You don’t need a receipt to return. It’s all tied to your Apple ID. My first watch was purchased on my husband’s credit card and they never asked for it for warranty work.

5.1.1 destroyed my pretty decent battery life, especially overnight.

I wear my S4 LTE to bed for sleep tracking with Sleep Watch, and I always put on Do Not Disturb and Theater mode. I usually wake with 89-91% left, a quick recharge in the morning. After 5.1.1 I have 52-57% left in the morning without touching my watch.

Maybe it’s the app and not the OS update, but during the day my watch drains much faster as well.

Do you have Fall detection ON? I've noticed at least a 15% difference with the feature OFF.

Have you tried the usual troubleshooting like unpairing and re-pairing?

Will try that one next....still recovering from 5.1 bricking my S4 and the time/effort/drama that caused. Pairing and upairing means setting up all my credit cards again, among other stuff.

FWIW, I put on Beta 5.1.2 today - been on standby 9 hrs, nearly 3 hrs usage (1 workout and a 1 3 mile walk on LTE) and battery on 75%. A LOT better than 5.1 or 5.1.1

So far so good

5.1.1 has greatly improved my battery life.

I have also noticed it no longer remains permantly connected to wifi. It now works as before. Wifi is enabled but not connected.

If I try and manually connect to my wifi when I have a good phone BT connection it just disconnects.

So feel free to leave it on in control centre. It will now only kick in when your phone is out of range or off.

With my 40mm, I started at about 7:40 am, had a day of light to moderate use and a 40 minutes workout. I took it off at 9:45 PM with 47% left. Not as good as my S3 42mm, but fairly pleased.

I’m very happy only having to charge every second day. I’ve not done anything to try & reduce consumption so just default settings. I wear the watch overnight for sleep tracking, I have a good number of notifications I use the phone app & text and still generally have over 20% remaining after two days.

Interesting. I have the same app installed (on my iPhone only) and it has had no adverse effect on my LTE AW. I do track my sleep overnight as well. I do not put it on DND or Theater Mode.

Last night it returned to the normal 91% left overnight....I made no changes, but glad the watch seems to have sorted itself out. I have the Sleep Watch app and complication installed on my watch.

Would you mind posting your Watch usage stats when it's at 20%?

Hello guys. I am very disappointed with the battery. I have the 40mm model, GPS only, and the battery never lasts long.
Updating to 5.1.1 did not resolve either. At the time:

Standby 18 hours 10 minutes
I use 4 hours 56 minutes
39% remaining

I do not know how to solve this. In many reviews, and even here in the forum, I saw that the battery lasts much longer. But apple guarantees 18 hours in standby. They probably would not make the switch.

Hello! The fall detection is active. But I do not think that justifies such a bad battery performance. It does not make sense to also have a smartwatch with so many features and have to turn everything off so the battery can only last 1 day.

Based on the stats you posted, you should get a little over a day on a full charge with your current settings and usage.

18 hours 10 minutes of standby at 39% battery would work out to ~30 hours of total standby until your battery ran out.
