It’s oretty obvious to me that the battery life is less than the series 3 so far. Pretty much the same for aeries 2. I’ve tried adjusting and turning off background refresh and watch faces. Bottom line under similar circumstances, I finish the day around 50-55% when the series 3 was 60-65%.

I never had the extra calories like others. In fact, I average about the same today as all months prior. I typically average 900 calories, 15-16 stand hours and 70-100 minutes of exercise. The only real difference is 10-15% more battery burn.

Could improve with future .1 versions but it isn’t terrible. Just a little longer to charge before wearing to bed.

Last night I pulled my series 4 off the charger at 100%/fully charged at around 10PM right before I went to sleep. I woke up at 5AM and it was about 95 percent. Right now, at 6:30PM it's at 66%. I think that's pretty good. I'm very happy with that.

This is my first AW. I didn’t know what to expect about battery life and I was concerned about it. But after using the watch for over a month now I can say that I have yet to have a battery related issue. It’s harldy ever below 50% at Ed of day. I even took the battery percent off my complication.

I find I only need to charge every other day for about an hour.

Mine is difficult to gauge as I am using LTE more. On S3 got easily 2 full days (yep 48 hours)

S4 44mm LTE and after 24 hours there is about 35% left rather than about 55%..though as I say doing more workouts and using LTE for at least an hour when I walk the dogs.

I do get the feeling though it is a little less

Decided to take it 2 days.. putting it on the charger now.

Took this when I still had 3% battery left.

Probably took it off the charger around 9am Thursday morning. Had the watch on me until like 9pm that night, then from about 9am to almost midnight on Friday. Put the watch on around 10am this morning. Just left it on my bedside table while I slept.

44mm version. BAR is off, detect gym equip and auto workout is off, raise to speak is off, raise to wake is on, brightness at half.

Which face were you using?

I’ve turned off a few things, recharged to 100% and set the timer on iPhone. 37 minutes in and still on 100%. Will report back later!

My battery has been great since I turned off some stuff. I cannot identify specifically what has made the difference but its definitely improved. I've also started using the workout app that I first suspected was draining the battery and it now doesn't seem to make any difference. As I write this, I've been using since being 100% at midnight and it's still on 68%. My rings are 90% done and I've used to control my Philips Hue lights, and stop watch. Very happy with this. Just wish I'd know what was draining my battery in the first place?

Has anyone used their Apple Watch down to zero, to see how long it lasts, or is that not advisable?

What do you do with your AWS4 by night? I don´t sleep with it, yesterday it was 100% when i went to bed and it was 86% when I woke up this morning. Is not too much? it was sitting in the night stand all the time.
It is my first wach so I don´t know what´s the normal in the battery life.
I imagine that you can put it to charge eveynight so when you wake up in the morning is 100%.

“Wrist detection” might be at fault here. I’ve noticed that when you leave the Watch flat with the band touching the back, it’d trigger a heart rate which keeps running constantly. Try laying it on the side and see if it drains at the same rate.

Not sure what's going on but clearly something is draining my battery.

Series 4 LTE 40mm
Currently at 22% with stats as below.

Can't be the apps as it was like that even without any apps installed!

How long have you had the watch? It takes time to settle down, but that seems extreme based on what I've experienced. Also, what other settings do you have on it? Background Refresh? Detect Gym Equipment? Raise to Speak? Raise to Wake?

Have you tried un-pair and re-pair?

Background Refresh? ✅
Raise to Speak? ✅
Raise to Wake? ✅

All of which shouldn't be draining the battery as much.

Had it only since Sunday. Replaced the 44mm that I've found too big.
Battery life was poor even without installing any apps.
Lost another 7% in 45 mins since my last post.

Will try to un-pair and re-pair.

Does anyone’s battery get stuck on 99%? I mean it does go to 100% but seems to stick on 99 for ages?

My mother in law has the 40mm. She puts her watch on at around 7am, does a 2 hour walk, and a 1 hour swim every day. By 2:45pm her battery was at 36%. By 6pm it was 18% before putting it on the charger. Not sure how that fairs. She has power saving on for workouts. That’s it.

I was tempted to get my wife the Apple Watch series 4 but I think we will wait until Apple can improve the battery a bit more.

That seems a bit excessive even for the 40mm one.
Have you tried unpairing and setting up as new? Cuz with just 3 hours of workout, it should still last more than 24 hours. And while you're at it, turn off Background App Refresh for all the unnecessary apps.

Just an update. So her 40mm series 4 is at 61% now at 2:59pm. No walk or swim today.
