Sooo the 6+ is an awesome battery, and the 6 is hit and miss, ranging from 4-9 hours. Sucks.
I'm finding that having my 6 on anything above 25% brightness, drains just as quick as the 5S did. So when I'm out and about for the day, and need brightness and my iPhone, I'm screwed and will need multiple battery packs and/or car charger.

6 here and i did not use it much yesterday (wifi BT still on) but only unlocked it a couple of times... so practically no use after being off charger for about 14h battery was at 91% .....!

i know this is anecdotal.. but still it blew my mind. my previous 5 would never come even close to that.

I'm getting around 6/7 hours usage.. The only reason I might be getting less is even though I'm constantly on wifi my mobile signal is always 1/2 bars.

Okay Folks , after studying everything in this thread, doing everything to exclude any hardware (replaced the phone) or software specific drainage-factors I come to the following conclusion:

Standby time is great. Phone loses very little percentage during sleep.

Usage time is average (5-7 hours) - BUT totally depends on your usage profile.
Heavy messaging will drain your battery because the iPhone doesn't go into sleep mode when you always pick it up again after some minutes to text again.
Browsing only seems to use pretty light battery percentage.

I think this is a sub-average battery life in comparison to other phones.

What astounds me is that wifi usage is not much better than 3G usage.

I think we will have to live with it, or buy a 6 Plus, which is too big for me personally.

To me, 5-7 is fine. It's actually scary to think that we use our phones for almost half of our waking hours ^_^.

Phone was fully charged around 9 am and unplugged. Let it sit on my nightstand until 130pm and this was its use/standby times. Not too bad. Didn't lose any juice. But the minute I started using it normally the battery started dropping to 99 and then 98 a few mins later.

for those that are getting great battery life on the iphone 6, can you post some of your settings ? Auto-brightness on or off ? etc..

Today's usage. Taking it to Genius Bar next week to get the battery checked and the front camera. Mainly because I've been on wifi 80% of the day and still struggled to get 6 hours usage. ( and that wasn't really heavy usage)

This was my usage on the Space Gray iPhone 6 after the 3rd full charge.

This is the battery usage on my new Silver GSM iPhone 6 after only one charge. I ended up getting Apples stated 11 hours of usage time. Also, it turns out that I use Safari a lot more than I thought.

Can you tell more about your settings?
So that's a regular iPhone 6 and not the plus? Because that's the battery life that I expect if I buy an iPhone 6 instead of my 5. The plus is too big for me.

Don't know how I got over 10hrs of usage while still having 69% left.

Mainly safari, email and some texts.

There is something wrong with your phone. Because standby and usage shouldn't be the same. So your usage doesn't stop when your phone is in idle and that's why you've got such a high usage time.

Here's what I had last night. Plan on having some more accurate results later this week. Battery life isn't stellar, but that's because most of my time at school my battery is killed by "No Service" or 1 bar of HSPA.

iPhone 6
Usage: 3:54 (ish - it went off 7 minutes after this screenshot)
Standby: 4:29
Brightness: 25% or less (indoor day)
Connected to WiFi, which 3g/4g in the background.

Mostly played Godus and Beach Buggy Racing, with some browsing in-between.

So the exchange didn't help battery life for you? That's unfortunate. This is a complete guess here, but what is your brightness set on? I've noticed with my friend's phones the people who usually get bad battery life are usually around 100% brightness most of the day.

Below I've attached a screenshot of the battery life on my iPhone 5s so that people can compare to the iPhone 6. My usage pattern is the same on both. On the 5s, with my usage, I only get about 7 hours of battery life. So in my case, the iPhone 6 gave me about 2-3 more hours of battery doing the same things.

My 5s is still running iOS 7.1.2 with the Pangu jailbreak whereas the iPhone 6 was running iOS 8.0.

I'm having the exact same issues. I'm on wifi (with wifi calling enabled, mind you, so cell service isn't the cause of battery drain) 85-90% of the day barely even using my phone/apps other than texting, which I highly doubt is a big battery drain, and I still can't even manage to get 5 hours of usage. I talked to an AppleCare senior advisor and he told me to bring it back to my local Apple Store, show them the case notes (he added notes on there to explicitly tell them that I deserve a replacement because they had denied me already) and that if they don't replace it, to call them back and they'll mail me out a new one. Definitely get it checked out and if your Apple Store won't replace it, try talking to AppleCare, specifically a senior advisor. They seem to be very understanding.

Have you used facebook much tho? I haven't see, a few minutes here and there. Most of the time it's been on standby and facebook usage is showing up the most. That's why i deleted it as it seems it keeps taking up usage in standby; hence the usage/standby times being almost identical.

Alot of apps will use more battery then nessacery right now, alot of apps still havent been really updated to support iOS 8 fully yet, and they havent been updated for the new iPhones too, battery life when using applications from the App Store will defitnetly go up, making the battery life on these phones even better and also better performance from the updates

Somethings wrong then,

IDK, I always set up my new iPhone as new and manually put things back on my phone for the best battery life, sounds like there might be a software glitch with your phone causing battery drain

Have you followed the battery life tips?
