I got 8hrs and 40minutes out of my iPhone 6 Plus. Everything on. Is that bad?

looks good to me looks like lots of Safari also Vine and Facebook are battery hogs so if you use those and still get close to 9 hours of usage thats good in my opinion

----------

This is what my iPhone 6 finished on.

All settings on apart from Bluetooth and 4G as my area doesn't have 4G coverage. Location services on and mail set to push.

I don't get great signal at home but was on wifi about 60-70% of the time.

Not bad at all in my opinion.

very nice in my opinion

Did you end up doing a clean install? If so, have you seen any improvement?

Yep, you'll lose the app data. I think the workaround is to backup your apps to iTunes and that way it'll backup your app data too. I'm not 100% sure if this is the case, but I'll look into it tomorrow. Also, I restored from a backup and also setup as new and saw no difference in terms of battery life. I can still barely make it 7.5 hours on a charge with less than 5 hours of usage. Getting mine replaced tomorrow.
Really curios to know what happens with the replacement. I don't think I'm getting good battery life either :(
It's like it's the same as my 4s..lasts a day. No way people are getting 10 hours on a 6 with any kind of heavy usage.

it seems like everyone who is getting really good batt life is using stock apps. safari looks to be most used on those screenshots this is prob what apple uses to post theirs.

use third party apps and your batt life seems to be greatly reduced.

I use mostly stock apps as well and Safari or Messages is almost always my biggest battery drain and even still I can't manage 5 hours of usage, so I don't think that's it.

Good theory, but I'd say it's busted.

Ok, after a really bad experience on my first day with my plus in which I just managed 6 hours in total, I decided to reset my phone as a new one and now it is starting to look promesing:

What do you guys think?

You can't base battery life off of what you see during the first percentage drop from 100%->99%. The battery life during that initial drop is always longer than from 99%->98% and so on. It's a calibration thing. Post another screenshot once the battery is at 1-5%.

Ugh, I got my classes for tomorrow mixed up and setup an appointment for tomorrow during one of my class periods and just realized my mistake now and it looks like I won't be able to bring it in until Wednesday now. Just my luck.

I have both the 6 plus and the 6. I used the 6+ last week and would typically be 50%ish at end of day. I switched to try the 6 this week. Setup as new yesterday and drained battery last night. Charged to overnight and took off charger at 7 am. Phone is on wifi from 7-740 am when I leave then is on LTE all day. I was out at an event in a basement after work from about 6-9pm which had lower signal (usually drains more battery) and then back home and on wifi around 930pm. It's almost midnight and phone is right at 24%. This is with all normal settings, ie nothing to preserve battery and it is connected to my Pebble via Bluetooth all day. Pretty happy with this.

Wow I wish my iPhone 6 got that kind of battery life. Yours is spectacular, especially with all the LTE and basement reception. Amazing.

So which do you like better? The 6 Plus or the 6? Which is going to be your daily driver?

Right now it's looking like the 6 will be daily driver if I keep getting battery like this. The 6+ is awesome and the screen/battery is really nice but I think it's too big for my day to day especially since I have an iPad air for use at home.

I have the benefit of being able to try both because we need them for testing and QA.

Here is my final for the day : full charge last night before bed - woke up to 100% still which is good but now this ..good it bad guys?? I don't think this is good at all. Nowhere near 8 hours. Wifi most of the day.

For those of you complaining about battery life, it's important to note that even if you're on WiFi, your battery will still struggle if your cell reception is weak because the phone has to work harder to maintain that connection. So even if you get it replaced by Apple it may not fix your problem entirely.

That is unless your carrier supports wifi calling which makes that point moot since it's not having to constantly search for a signal since its already routing calls/texts through wifi.

So my check register app is listed as backed up under documents and data in iCloud. If I reset my phone as new, log into my iCloud account for my contacts and re-download that app will I get my old data back for that app back?

Sounds like it, but don't quote me on that. There's probably a support document that can answer that for you, though.

When I get my 6 (which will be whenever these folks in ZhengZhou get done sitting on the pot) if it gets battery life like this, I'll never need another phone again.

Depends on the app and how it stores & retrieves the data. The only way to know is to try it.

So irritated that after I did a clean restore thought I was back in business and now it going back down hill again. What the hell? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1412080648.834747.jpg

This is probably the most accurate usage for the iPhone 6 younger generation wise.

Average teenager who texts a lot plus uses social media, lasted me all day on single charge; which I find amazing. I also use my phone for work...

This is also with brightness on the highest & not modifying any settings, basically default. So far i'm extremely satisfied with it and I don't understand why social media is putting down such an amazing product.

Edit: I also noticed that iMessage seems to use a lot more battery life compared to previous iPhone generations. ( primarily what I use )

Battery Usage/Life Screenshots iPhone 6

Here we go, 4G always on, average reception where I live (3 out of 5), everything else optimised, screen brightness to 1/3. IP6 2nd charge.

You didn't even make it 6 hours bruh..you think this is good? I made it 1 hour further than you and I'm not happy..

So, finally had the ability to test how the battery life of my iPhone 6 really is.

I actually find it quite well. Wasn't really heavy usage I have to admit, but it certainly is better compared to the first 24 hours. And not to even mention how bad the battery life of my iPhone 4S was; that thing couldn't even hold out for 4 hours with very low to a little bit of average usage and 15 hours of stand-by. xD

I'm very satisfied with how it is right now. Or are there people that don't find it much compared to my usage? :$

Oh and by the way, don't mind the language. It's Dutch. ;)
