lol, manually restore it or not...not gonna matter..funny how people think certain tricks work..to each his own.. Just restore from back up..your first phone was defective..no way another phone gets as poor as porformace..the real test is to keep things the same as the first 6 you had AND THEN LET US KNOW how it went...now you're doing things differently and I can guarantee that just because you installed the update "manually" lols it is not contributing to better battery life..it is the new phone you got..Just wanted to make a quick little update, but I manually restored the new iPhone to iOS 8.0.2 (as in I went to IPSW Downloader, downloaded the IPSW file for my device, option-clicked and restored my iPhone from the IPSW I just downloaded, let it set up and then restored my data, apps, etc. from an iTunes backup (not iCloud backup)) and it's got all the same apps, photos, data, etc. and battery life seems much, much improved.
I haven't yet been able to put it through a full day, but it's already significantly better than what I was seeing from my old iPhone 6 and as I said, this is with the exact same type of usage, settings, and apps. I'm gonna charge it up fully tonight and run it till it dies tomorrow and will post screenshots then. So far, though, things are looking good.
Man this is irritating the **** out of me!!! So I am a heavy FB user and I know its a batter killer but this is worse then my 5s by far!! I did have use the mobile site and set up the icon on my home screen but can't figure out how to save the password and got sick of if have to log in each time?? Normally it will ask if you if you want to save??
Almost 20% in 41 minutes?? That's ridiculous!! I have restored from new and use WiFi all the time. Have everything possible shut off?
Using instead of wifi will definitely drain the battery faster, particularly if you were using it for facetime. Facetime over LTE is one of the more battery intensive things you can do on an iPhone.
I recommend giving it a few days before judging, because initially you're going to be using the phone obsessively because it's new and awesome, and inevitably the battery will drain.
In all instances, though, you'll save battery by disabling background apps that are non-essential (I only let the stock weather and calendar apps update in the background on mine), disable push notifications for apps that are just going to annoy you with spam, and try to keep connected to wifi where it's available.
Oh, and definitely cut off location services to any app that doesn't need it. For instance, if you let Google Now run in the background (via the Google Search app), it'll quickly run down your battery tracking your location.

I have both the i6 and i6+. Here are my results after testing both phone's battery stamina:
Iphone 6:
15 hours 42 min usage and 1 day 3 hrs standby.
Iphone 6 Plus:
11 hours 43 min usage and 1 day 10 hrs standby.
Obviously the usage of apps is slightly different between each test and would affect battery performance but both are good indicators of 'real world' usage.
Both have excellent battery life but was surprised how long the ip6 lasted on 'real world' usage.
Some notes about the test on both phones:
- Background refresh only on core apps I use frequently
- Location defaults to 'only when app is used' or never (no always on selected).
- Motion reduced
- Screen on auto brightness
- Mix of wifi/4G with varying reception
def not good indicators of real world usage LOL as your have the 6 dominating the 6 plus for some reason..nobody will get that..people barely even get 8-9 hours on the 6 let alone 15 hours lol and you're saying this is a good real world usage?? um no..not at all..not even by a mile..
In other news, iPhone 6 beats iphone 6 plus battery by 5 hours!! Forget about Apple stats..real world stats babyHow is it not 'real world' just because the 6 beats the 6+? I used both phones as I normally would and this is consistently the result over repeated tests.
Other people's results may vary and most reasonable people would understand this...to claim that this is "not real world by a mile" is your opinion but I posted this based on the results so other people can be informed.
Get off your high horse...

My point was you are using third party apps; regardless of crippling the phone those may not be quite as battery optimized as stock apps.
Do you have the same battery life with Safari as you do with Dolphin?
I also suppose Apple's testing was done with full strength 3G and LTE and a strong wifi connection. Signal strength is my personal biggest battery drain, cuz the phone sometimes has to strain for LTE in a spotty area or something.
Don't know why you feel the need to be so condescending as if you know it all when you clearly don't, but okay. I'm doing NOTHING differently with the new phone, everything is the same as the old one. Manually restoring may or may not have affected anything, but it never hurts to do it and I believe that it can help sometimes. So yeah, please don't even bother replying if you're just going to be condescending. I simply posted my results/findings for other to see, I didn't ask to be criticized for what I believe may have helped me in my situation. So please, hop off your high horse.
Thanks and have a great day, night, evening... whatever!![]()
Don't worry mate, I got a condescending response from shabanggg a few posts above posting my results also...just ignore him.
Yep, I saw that as well. I'm just going to ignore his comments from this point on. No point in arguing with people who can't have a civil discussion.
Regarding your screenshots from earlier in the thread: Did you setup your iPhone 6 as new? That's absolutely insane battery life!
Yes, both were setup as new devices. Also used settings to maximise battery on any apps I don't require on a frequent basis.
