Let's Face it guys ... The battery is below average.

I love this phone ! Everything is brilliant , except this damn battery. I don't understand why they didn't make it a mm thicker to give it a better battery.

Second charge keeps getting better battery life.
Battery @ 2%
Usage 10 Hours, 30Minutes
Standby 2 Days, 12 Hours

Tuneinradio 60%
Safari 30%
Phone 4%

Returned the iPhone 6 after debating it back and forth. After playing with the iPhone 6 plus I got my girlfriend, I've gotten used to the larger size. So here's a screenshot of my new iPhone 6 plus. I tried to keep my usage patterns the same for easy comparison. In my original post for similar usage and apps, my iPhone 5s lasted 7.5 hours. My iPhone 6 lasted about 9.5 hours. This iPhone 6 plus is on pace for about 12.5 hours. I think that's longer lasting than even my iPad Mini Retina.

Cool. Did you set up as new on the plus as well?

Also, what brightness? I can never get more than 7 hours on my iPhone 6 at the moment at 45% brightness with most of the background services turned off. So even at 9.5 hours that was pretty decent.

Finally, what are your thoughts on the switch to the 6 plus? Worth the trade off in portability? Is the size getting in the way of normal day to day?

I set up all my iPhones as new. I never restore from backup. Brightness is always left unchanged at auto-brightness defaults. I'm mostly on wifi though. When I'm out and about I use LTE an hour or two at most I'd say.

6 plus is a worth the trade off in portability for me as I used to carry both an iPhone 5s and an iPad Mini Retina during vacation. So this is less to carry when I'm travelling and I am not even picking up the iPad off the coffee table anymore.

Unfortunately it doesn't quite fit in all my pants comfortably. I have a favourite pair of Armani jeans that don't have deep enough pockets. The plus sticks out a bit and is really too snug to my hips. My looser fitting jeans are deeper and not as uncomfortable. So I had to do things like adjust my plus phone to be seated diagonally sticking out a bit instead of straight vertically in my pockets when sitting in the movie theatre last night.

It's a compromise for sure. But the big screen is gorgeous enough that I'm willing to make concessions. I also had pinky fatigue the first few days with the plus. Haha! Got a bit of hand cramp trying to hold the phone the same way I held the 5s and 6. I've had to completely change the way I hold the phone, supporting it with my pointer finger on the back and wrapping my pinky around the side and now I don't have pinky fatigue anymore.

Size rarely gets in the way of day to day use though. I use reachability feature so often now that when I go to double press for app switching my muscle memory keeps double tapping for reachability instead. So I'm still using this phone mostly one handed.

Typing this post though I'm doing two handed because I'm not an animal heh.

is this good ?

Doesn't look that good but there's been complaints in this thread that Twitter notifications will really drain the battery.

Everything I could turn off - I did. Bluetooth, iCloud, Cell data for much of the day.

This was at 50% battery post a full charge.
Bad OS...

Given your most used app is a game that revs up the processor, this may be close to expected battery performance for your use pattern, which uses more power than browsing or texting.

Set up with an iCloud backup. No push, no fetch, auto brightness works great.
Very happy with the battery life on my 6
I use Bluetooth, and I have location services enabled

It's a 6!

Then that's really good. You're going to get anywhere from 5-7 hours "real world" of Usage on the 6. Add to that you were playing Clash of Clans for almost half of the hour used and you're still looking at just over 5 hours at your current pace.

Those people posting that they get 10 (or more) hours of usage from a 6 have just about everything turned off (bluetooth, location services, etc). What's the point of having those features if you turn them off?

Make sure auto-brightness is on and enjoy your phone.
