Is this normal for my 6+? push stuff on, 3G and wifi on when available, brightness on about halfway all the time. I see most of u 6+ owners have around 11-12, this is on my 5th go around all 5 times I haven't reached 10 hours, always around 9.

This is from my 6+ and the battery life on this thing is blowing my mind! Swapped over from a Samsung Galaxy Note, which could barely last me through 3/4 of my day.

Few notes:
- auto brightness is on
- background app refresh is on for the core apps I use
- location usage is when app is in use for most of them

I am having HORRENDOUS battery life as well... Looked in the logs and there are 27 crash logs for "stacks+backboardd"... All yesterday. Yesterday, I got just over 4 and a half hours of usage for one entire charge... Today, I am at 30% and have squeezed just over 3 and a half hours of usage. This isn't right.

Has relogging in iCloud helped anything? If this phone got battery life like my iPad mini with Retina, it would be the PERFECT phone. I get over 10 and a half hours of usage from that thing at times.

Could someone give me a consolidated list of what settings I should go play with to help battery life? I know of the many basic ones but just need to know exactly what I need to go do. My battery is at 35%ish as well.

i don't know if it helped or not, but try it. i didn't give it a chance to do its thing since i literally just updated to iOS 8.1 beta 2. apparently that fixes the crash errors for stacks+backboard.

the apple tech said the crashes he saw most were for SMS, phone and calendar. core services that were tied to iCloud, so he recommended trying to log out and back in again thinking something was hung up and constantly doing work in the background. I've already restored twice, never from backup, so i refuse to try that again since it doesn't have any effect. ill see how 8.1 works out.

on a side note, two of my non apple apps (myVegas Slots and Blackjack) are throwing Exc_Resource crash reports that look like the following...

Exception Type: EXC_RESOURCE
Exception Subtype: WAKEUPS
Exception Message: (Limit 150/sec) Observed 206/sec over 300 secs
Triggered by Thread: 14

my guess is that that are to blame for some of the decreased battery life here too.

Let's hope so because the stacks+backboard is annoying and I think that the cause for my battery drain on my 6 Plus. I mean on 8.0.0 I had good battery life but after updating to ios 8.0.2 it feels like i'm dropping every 10-20 minutes of usage.

i can watch the percentage drop every 2 mins literally while browsing or texting. i wanted to throw the phone.

5 days of standby time with your usage is pretty decent actually. Even so, the 6+ battery life is really a beast!

In the past, some people who did an OTA update of iOS found they got worse battery life, but they regained a lot of that when they did a restore of iOS from within iTunes.

That's a PITA when you have 100GB of stuff on your phone to back up and restore via iTunes, after restoring the phone to factory with a new ROM install via iTunes.

Hmm I just checked my diagnostic crash logs and can confirm my 6+ also has a lot of the same stacks+backboardd crashes on iOS 8.0.2. No idea what that is or what effect it is having on my phone.

Luckily there are reports this is fixed in 8.1.

Here is another screen shot of my battery usage. It's been giving me same usage and standby usage which I find very weird.

Has anyone else seen the same thing?

I'm on pace to hit 12 hours or more on my iPhone 6+, mostly on LTE :D, turning off the parallax effect and push (leaving it to fetch emails once an hour) seems to have greatly improved my battery life.

Can only imagine how much more I'd get if I had the luxury to be on Wifi all day like some of these posters... lol

I'll post again tomorrow when I'm at 1% :D

For those of you getting 9+ hrs of battery life (usage) -- what is your screen brightness set on?

I'm happy with my iPhone 6 so far. Connected to my Pebble Watch all day and listening to podcasts for 4-5hrs. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1413038489.130814.jpg

I'm in the same boat as you ...it seems a lot are getting 11-12 hours of usage. I'm considering contacting Apple to make sure I don't have a botched battery. I'm not even getting 10 and I'm on wifi all day and my brightness is at 30%. Just wanted to add that I haven't even set up email. Edit// and seeing ip6 users getting 8-10 is making me really think I have one Eva meh battery.

Actually 7 hours moderate to high use is decent. I tried everything too. Got a replacement. Set up as new. Did diagnostics with Apple. In the end they said this is normal with that use.

I've got a 6 plus now and it's around 8-9 hours of heavy use.

I'm extremely content with battery life so far, this is my first "clean" cycle since my iPhone 6 arrived. Screen brightness set to auto, however, there were times I was in extremely bright environments but on the 2 hour bus ride home it got pretty dark so the screen brightness was turned down almost completely...
So half of the day it was almost always at 100% and the other half of the day under 30%.

Lots of music listening, lots of occasional chatting via the apps seen in the screenshot and some phone calls. Pretty impressed!

I'm with you. I have owned every iPhone model Apple has made. I loved every single one of them - except the iPhone 6. This is the biggest disappointment I've experienced with any Apple product. I sincerely hope it's just buggy software and that when iOS 8.1 is released I can once again embrace Apple. But right now, I'm ready to buy a Galaxy (and I hate Samsung/Android). Battery life is horrible. I get 6 hours of standby - WiFi on, Bluetooth off, locations services off, background app refresh off, and no apps running. Phone starts at 100%, put on a table for the night and in the morning it's at 10%. Now that's poor battery life. Apple ran diagnostics and says the battery tests good, hardware tests good but software and operating system showed errors. Restore from new only created new problems. Someone at Apple was asleep on the job.

One thing I've realized is you can't compare usage statistics to another user as their patterns differ. However it makes more sense to compare it to Apple's usage benchmarks and if they're different from that (I mean significantly different) then you may have faulty hardware.

I'm seriously starting to think that my phone has a soul or emotions because it really has its days. Sometimes I can barely squeeze out 4 hours of usage before hitting the 20% mark, sending me looking for a place to charge before the day is over. (Especially if I'm not going home after work) but this past couple of days the battery has been absolutely staggeringly outstanding. I wish I could consistently get this battery life to not ever worry about running out of juice before the day's over. I'm not changing my usage habits between those dates either. I really would wanna know the cause of this volatility.

iPhone 6 space gray 64gigs. Day 16 with the phone.
