I'm seriously starting to think that my phone has a soul or emotions because it really has its days. Sometimes I can barely squeeze out 4 hours of usage before hitting the 20% mark, sending me looking for a place to charge before the day is over. (Especially if I'm not going home after work) but this past couple of days the battery has been absolutely staggeringly outstanding. I wish I could consistently get this battery life to not ever worry about running out of juice before the day's over. I'm not changing my usage habits between those dates either. I really would wanna know the cause of this volatility.

iPhone 6 space gray 64gigs. Day 16 with the phone.

I think it's a software issue. I'm almost willing to bet that once 8.1 is released, we will all see a nice bump in battery life. 6's will be 6-8 hours and 6 + will be 10-12.

Yes but software is the same between the times it's awesome and terrible, that's what's so weird about it. But I hope you're right on 8.1 bumping up the battery.

Ps. It is going great today as well. 3h40 minutes usage and 13.5 hours stanby it is at 44%. However I just had a random tiny short reboot that resetted the usage statistics to none. That reboot is weird and happens like twice every week. Probably a bug that'll be sorted out with 8.1

I'm with you. I have owned every iPhone model Apple has made. I loved every single one of them - except the iPhone 6. This is the biggest disappointment I've experienced with any Apple product. I sincerely hope it's just buggy software and that when iOS 8.1 is released I can once again embrace Apple. But right now, I'm ready to buy a Galaxy (and I hate Samsung/Android). Battery life is horrible. I get 6 hours of standby - WiFi on, Bluetooth off, locations services off, background app refresh off, and no apps running. Phone starts at 100%, put on a table for the night and in the morning it's at 10%. Now that's poor battery life. Apple ran diagnostics and says the battery tests good, hardware tests good but software and operating system showed errors. Restore from new only created new problems. Someone at Apple was asleep on the job.

lol what the hell is this? your phone drained 90% overnight? how is that even possible? you clearly have a defective product, my iPhone has Wi-fi and background app refresh on, and when I go to sleep and put it down for the night at 100%, in the morning, with those settings on, It only goes down 5% for me. Everyone overall seems to be getting pretty great battery life on both models and alot better then the 5S. in your case you seem to be the complete opposite, my phone isn't draining 90% overnight, clearly something wrong with yours,

Not sure if this is good or not. Fully charged since 10am. iPhone 6 with light to moderate usage with mix of wifi and LTE. I usually keep everything on like locations, background bluetooth, etc

Ok now this make me nervous seeing most of you have 11/12 hours at 65+%

Yeah this sucks and only saying that because mine is the same and I have done everything imaginable to try and solve it. Such bull **** as I am passed the 14 day return and of course no Crapple store close to me so would have to send it in. Best Buy where I bought was giving me the business about not getting the Geek Squad protection well why the hell would I get that if its covered under warranty? For the first time since having a smart phone I am contemplating selling and giving an android phone a try. Should of kept my 5s damn it all!!!

That's what I've been consistently getting. I think a lot of us are getting that amount. Apple guys tell me this is normal. No idea how others get those 9+ hours. I've learnt to accept that 6-7 hours is normal...if you need kore consider a 6 plus...8-9 hours.

you standby is very close to your usage time either something is constantly running or you are not puting the phone down

What does that have to do with anything??? Just means he was using his phone but it killed the battery quite a bit.. Do you think that would be any different then others reporting 8+ hours of usage? Guessing they have used there phone over 2+ hours in a sitting but obviously didn't kill there battery that much.

they are on pace for 6 hours of usage which is not bad with so much Angry Birds, most people with 8 hours of usage do not have a game in their top 5 apps

I can't accept this.... It's stupid that I'm afraid to use my iPhone because I fear it will turn off when I need it. It actually lasts for my day at work but when I go for dinner or a drink it turns off. I hate charging it mid-day.
What else can we do? I don't want another android phone.
What startles me is that it drains on wifi as much as on 3G.

Wifi all day

you are still showing 40%

you can get 1 hour of usage for every 10% so that could be another 4 hours which would bring you to 8.5 hours of usage and 16+ hours of standby

What kind of math are you doing?? No way in hell he is going to the 8.5 hrs out of that charge??

the guessing kind which is all I can do when someone is guessing how much battery life they will get out of a phone that has more than 1/3rd of a charge left, what math are you using to dispute me?

This is the kind of battery life I've been consistently getting with my 6, both the first one and the replacement. Apple guys told me it's normal for my use so I just accepted it as the phone's limits.

I'm trying out the 6 plus now and the battery is markedly better. Around 8-9 hours of proper use without worrying or fearing for your phone's battery. But it comes with trade offs. I'm writing this lying down for example and it's just not as easy even with two hands as with a smaller phone. I might end up keeping the 6 plus and returning the 6 for the battery, or keep the 6 and carry a battery pack in my bag for those random moments battery starts running low on busy days.

You made mention of 1 hour of usage equaling 10% battery life and if my math serves me correctly that would get one 10 hours of battery life which was not even close with 4.5 hours of usage and only 40% battery life in which this "dispute" started from.

I said you "can get 1 hour for 10%" depending on what apps you are using

now if you brightness is cranked, you email is pushed or fetching every 15 mins, background refresh is on for everything, location services on for everything.

so yes the picture I comment on is geting 45minutes for 10% which can easily be bumped

point is you can't say if you are geting good or bad battery life if you dont use the whole 99+%

6 hours of usage..hmm where does it say that.. lol I was playing games on the phone quite a bit but still this makes me rethink that I should tone it down on playing games on my phone now.

I have had my iPhone 6 for almost a week and a half and have never gotten more than 6 hours of usage. Right now it's 20% and I'm at 4 hours 45 mins so we will see how it goes. Extremely disappointed by my battery so far. I even have background refresh disabled, stripped location sevices to minimum, turned off push for email, it's fetch for only one of my 4 emails, manual for the rest. Brightness usually 25%. What's the deal?!

Now at 5 percent and at 5 hours 15 minutes of battery usage. 15 percent in half an hour of Twitter, Safari, Messages, and a small little game I play at absolute darkest the screen will get. Help..?
