I've been reading up on this and I think it's legit and it should be coming because the company is getting pissed it's losing all its customer base to 3rd party apps like whatsapp and kik etc.

I really have no idea. It sounds to good to be true. No pictures, nothing. But the 'company' does keep posting updates on Twitter. So I don't really understand why they would go through all that trouble for nothing? It's not like we lose something. I'm very skeptical about the whole thing, but hey... If they can somehow manage to do it. Props to them.

I'm almost positive it will be coming, hopefully soon.
I believe RIM's CEO said that it was definitely happening, and it is true that Blackberry is moving away from PINs and will be using BB ID (a blackberry ID that goes through your email address... making it possible to use BBM on an iPhone or Android device)
