All joking aside, I’m glad this is doing well because I’m all for more creative color themes in tech. For a while, it seemed like everyone wanted everything to be black rectangles and we’re starting to get past that. As far as these beats go however, I think the “stone purple” is my favorite. I’m really digging that shade of purple lately.😊

Honestly, Kim is Kim and I couldn't care less about what she does, but some of the comments here are below shallow. Having skin-toned earbuds is important for a lot of people who already have limited options as it is. Get over yourself and whatever agenda you have.

The early 80s called, they want their colors back.

I'm so exhausted by "designers" putting out drab color after drab color in everything from clothes, to vehicles, to everything else. The world has been depressed enough for the past two years, bring back fun, lively colors and help cheer the place up.

“colors, designed in collaboration with Kim Kardashian”

”There are no changes to the $199.99 "Kim K" edition Beats Fit Pro beyond the new color options”

She ”helped” design the colors? Make it stop 🛑

They’ve been in business with gross people for a long time. Like Dr Dre when they paid Billions for Beats. Kim K is a far better human than the person who actually made Beats.
And funny thing is, I like Dre's music.

From a demographic standpoint, I'm probably not the target audience, but I still like the music.

They are nice colors, particularly the lighter one. If my wife hadn't just got new AirPods she would have been all over these.

Reading these comments I realize that many people don't understand that Apple is also a fashion company with their wearables.

I seriously doubt that…. Unless you frequented 4chan back then? In which case… 🤔

Let’s not be dramatic. The people who are blatantly offensive will be banned, and the other negative comments just don’t like Kim and the social media lifestyle she represents. It’s okay to not like a big picture of a social elite on a tech focused site.

But I agree the colors of these Beats are awesome, they should just lose Kim in the marketing 😩

I see a lot of complaints about Kim, but Kim is the world’s leading expert on the convergent technology that combines plastic, silicone, flawlessly blurred skin tone, the ability to ignore what people are saying, bulbous shapes, and tiny packaging.

It’s good you didn’t just move your lips with a bunch of gibberish, and forget about Dre.

😜

I think it's one thing to not like a certain celebrity, and another to also recognise that they remain insanely influential nonetheless, and it stands to reason that any product backed by them or designed in collaboration with them is going to be very popular amongst their fan base.

It also explains why Apple is still holding on to the beats brand. The AirPods is the more "neutral" brand, while beats is there for the funky colours and celebrity collabs that simply would not fit in with the image of the AirPods.

The only person who should be downvoted for this is Tim. He's the one that signed off on this!

You gotta hand it to Apple.

They know how to make money.

Whether I agree or not with this Kardashian "collaboration" is a moot point.

I may think Apple have been tone deaf, but, the bottom line doesn't lie.

O tempora! O mores!

Edit:
However, I do hope MacRumours are not going to be treating us with a blow-by-blow update every single day on this product. I realise these "controversial" topics are good for site traffic. But…
Legit question: why is a collaboration on colors with kardashian controversial?

I mean I’ve always thought it to be a marketing strategy to have things appear “sold out”? To make it look more desirable? I’m not saying it’s a lie that it’s sold out but that Apple (among other companies) intentionally making fewer of their products for this reason? I wouldn’t put it past them.

Even when celebs or other people of noticeble interest do not promote something they will still be a feature in some media article somewhere because that is how the media industry work. I've noticed a common theme with the media in both the US and UK which is that even when celebs or other people of noticeble interest are going about their daily lives they get photographed and an article written about them. An example being ' (put name here) was seen out shopping today, she was wearing x with x and styled it off with x' and then the author of the article goes on about where the items can be purchased, either to try and shame the person for how expensive the clothes are or to shame the person for how cheap looking the clothing is considering the person could afford much better. When such articles are written, fans of the person then go online to purchase the items mentioned in the article and it happens time and time again.

Members of the UK royal family have this happen to them time and time again, especially the female members of the royal family, Kate Middleton specifically. Kate is seen out and about and then suddenly the lifestyle sections of UK media platforms go out of their way to describe in much detail the outfit and accessories she is wearing and then a few days later the same lifestyle media platform reports that shops have sold out of the clothing.

The media just cannot help themselves.

Have you not read the posts here on MacRumours?
🤣
I seem to have missed this one 🤷‍♂️

Reading now, and while some folks may have some legit reasons to dislike Kardashian (or Dre apparently, that one’s come up again looks like) mostly it just comes across as thinly veiled misogyny (or racism in Dre’s case)
