Beats have great sound quality and the noise cancellation and battery life of the studio 2s were good.

They have the build quality of a fidget spinner manufactured in China and sold on amazon for $0.72 though.

I got a pair of solo 3s from the educational discount I've been trying to sell. Beats need to step the durability up then they'd have something.

QC35 is better build quality but has terrible sound quality IMO.

Lose in one way or the other with both which led me to another brand for daily drivers.

Don't bother with these. Get the Bose QuietComfort 35 instead.

I was close to making the Bose QC35 purchase until I saw this article. I have never had Beats, and now I am interested in checking these new Beats out in order to make the best choise. What makes you recommend the Bose headphones over the new Beats headphones?

I'm going to pass on this. I bought 3 of them and all three were pampered, went not in use they go back in the hardshell case and folded gently. They all still managed to break.

.... ooooooooor get the Sennheiser HD598 CS for $150 which blow these out of the water, throw them back in the water only to blow them out again. And you're saving $200.

Yeah no, Lightning won't happen. These aren't iOS-device exclusives and must work with Android/Windows Phone too. But yeah, Micro-USB is just horrible.
Those are wired headphones - you're comparing apples and oranges

They could make two devices with different charge ports. More likely they could just use USB C. These headphones on paper are exactly what I am looking for but jeeeez the micro usb puts a damper on it.

You should also consider the Sony MDR-1000x headphones or their newer counterpart just announced last week. the 1000x is currently $100 off its original price on Amazon (Currently $298). These have gotten rave reviews for their top notch NC which is on par with the QC-35s but is considered to have better sound than the Bose headphones. The one thing Bose and these newer Beats Studio phones have over the MDR-1000x is easier connectivity to multiple devices. Also, see my post a few comments up on my experience with the previous Studio 2.0 headphones. I now own a pair of the Sony’s and love them

I wonder if these actually sound different or that they just kept the same sound like the solo 3’s and just added the W1 chip

Good point..

Will they be coming out with a newer version Solo headphones right now they have Solo 3's I currently have Solo 2's was going to upgrade mine but figured Id wait to see what they came out with

Yeah thanks for dictating what we should and should not purchase. Let the user decide yeah? I purchased a pair of Beats Studio Wireless Headphones last year and I have been very happy with them. The only reason I got AirPods? I don't like the bulk of headphones. Headphones are great when I want to do professional work but for Skype and the average listening of Tunes, AirPods work just fine.

The QC35s are incredibly comfortable even though the sound quality is a bit flat. Beats has their work cut out for them and I am not normally a Bose person.

Are these eligible with the $300 summer student discount? I'm checking the (U.S.) Apple Store for Education now and the only options continue to be the Beats Solo3 Wireless Headphones, the BeatsX Earphones, and the Powerbeats3 Earphones.

I'm surprised Beats hasn't released around-the-ear headphones; they're all on-ear which I've always found uncomfortable.

The Bose Soundlink AE2 and QC 35 are both around the ear and super comfy. In fact they're the comfiest headphones I've ever tried, which is why I got the AE2 (couldn't afford the QC35 and don't really need noise canceling).

Kinda funny. Was thinking of getting rid of my studio wireless for the past week but was afraid they wouldn’t come out with a pair. Guess I can get rid of them I’d like a new pair to match the iPad Pro and iPhone edition I’ll be getting.

What's with all of the hate for micro-usb? I own 3 pairs of headphones, 4 battery packs, and a couple of bluetooth speakers that use micro-usb. Never had a problem. What is the advantage of usb-c? What devices do you all use that uses USB-C for charging?

Will this have Bluetooth 5.0?

Beats today introduced new Studio3 Wireless over-ear headphones with Apple's W1 chip and Pure Adaptive Noise Canceling technology.

Beats Studio3 Wireless deliver up to 22 hours of battery life with Pure ANC on, and up to 40 hours with Pure ANC off. Fast Fuel quick charging technology via Micro-USB provides three hours of music playback with a 10-minute charge.

Here's how Beats describes Pure ANC:Like AirPods, Apple's W1 chip enables the Studio3 Wireless to instantly pair with an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or other Apple device, with seamless switching between iCloud-connected devices.

Apple's W1 chip has Class 1 Bluetooth, so the Studio3 Wireless can be used with non-Apple devices as well.

Studio3 Wireless wearers can answer phone calls, control music, and activate Siri with multifunction on-ear controls, while a 3.5mm RemoteTalk cable with in-line controls is also included in the carrying case.

Beats Studio3 Wireless can be ordered on Apple's website starting today for $349.95 in the United States, $399.95 in Canada, and £299.95 in the UK. Prices vary elsewhere. Shipments are estimated to begin in mid October.

Does this model scoop the life out of the sound by burying the mids like all the other Beats models? They’re Beats, so prolly.

[doublepost=1504583891][/doublepost]Not buying until Apple ditches the micro USB port. I've given up on Bose -- no highs, no lows, it must be Bose.

I prefer Beats since they have a more bass heavy sound overall than the Sony's or Bose. I'll definitely be getting these.

Did I really read that correctly?? They're using micro-usb and not usb-c?? What idiots, zero respect for the future, this alone would make me never buy these, consumers have had to deal with crap long enough... trying to plug something in and having to even think about which side will actually go in. If Steve Jobs were alive, he would never let something even this little occur with Apple's name tied to it. On top of that, Beats headphones sound terrible, maybe this one will break that quality trend.
