Nobody said it would be a separate app. And nobody said you couldn't put it in a folder if it was.

Panic is needless at this point.

(And Apple bundling their OWN software is different from PC makers taking payments to bundle other companies' junk. Many people don't mind that Apple integrates a lot of software. I never touch Stocks, and toss it in a folder, but I have no emotions to spend against it.)

My guess is Beats and iTunes radio will be combined into one product (with a free and paid component). I doubt this is taking the existing Beats app and turning it into something like Newsstand.

Have they given up on rolling out iTunes Radio to the rest of us? Sure looks that way. I'm happy with Spotify and don't see any reason to switch to Beats.

iOS 9 Wishlist: 1) Hide useless stock apps like on Apple TV currently 2) Customize Control Center 3) Make Album view in the Music app esp. On the iPhone 6 Plus optional since it could be much more useful with the standard menu

I hope so considering that the Beats service & iTunes Radio are under one division. Would be the best way to go. That and expanding it to way more countries.

I'm really tired of those ********* bundled "apps"...

There should be an option to hide the "Camera" icon from the Springboard (you can access it from the control center anyway), "Maps" if you don't use it, "Videos", "Stockings", "Game Center", "Kiosk", "iTunes Store" and a BIIIIG excetera... especially that really useless "TIPS" app... "FaceTime", "Calculator", etc. etc. etc.

It also should be illegal to include Beats Music inside iOS... it's not fair competition (just like the EU did before with Microsoft and its Internet Explorer browser integrated into Windows)...

Stockings? Sounds like you've got a racy iOS there. ;)

Do any of you listen to the service? I tried for a while and it was ok I guess but I could not stand the interface after being a Spotify user for a while. I like to use integrated apps as much as I can but only when they are as good or better than the third party options. In this case, I just could not get the feel for the interface.

If artists continue to leave other services but stay with iTunes/Beats we may not have a choice but to make the switch.

Please no. Please stop forcing more bundled apps with iOS.

At the very least, Apple should include a delete function for stock apps we don't want/need. Then this becomes a non-issue, and the people who want Beats can be happy, while the people who don't want it are not affected.

so will this be like Newstand were you can't delete it

This would be worse than having Newsstand, iBooks or the Podcast app on my iPhone, cause I am living outside of US and Beats Music isn't available in my country.

Now that, that should be removable. They better not force that as a required and non-removable app. Especially not if they're still offering 16GB as the entry level storage.

Beats, meet Newstand and Health. you guys gonna have fun in my "Not Using" folder on the last page of my Home Screen just created for it..

You guys like to cry about everything, if anything, my guess is that this app will be like Keynote, Numbers and Pages that comes pre-intalled in high capacity iDevices, you can delete them if you don't want them.

If you can download this App from the App store, I would assume it would be deletable if you didn't want it. Just like the iLife apps that are "bundled", you can delete those.

Seriously, the amount of whining on these threads anytime Apple does or doesn't do something (or is "rumored" to do something) is appalling.

Oh yeah, the iLife apps are easy to delete. Because those are what people are upset about when they say 'bundled'. What about Health? Passbook? Find Friends? Voice Memos?

And the Apple apologists claim that bloatware is a thing for Windows PCs and Android phones.

Find my Friends doesn't come with the iPhone, and Passbook is crucial for Apple Pay.

This app better not be a part of iOS9, of all the bundled apps I've used:

phone
Calendar
Messages
Photos & Camera
passbook for Apple Pay
Maps
iTunes & App Stores
weather
Notes
Safari
Mail

I never use:
Stocks
Game Center
health
Newsstand
Reminders
Videos
Voice memos
Compass
Tips

And if it makes it Beats

I turned on iTunes radio through my home theater. It was weird to see the album cover of a song being played with a price next to it. I thought I was being billed per song. Turned it off.

There is nothing like Spotify. No matter how many times I have to do a clean install of OS X (which has been a lot lately), I download, sign in, and everything is there. And if I were to stop paying, it wouldn't disappear. They figured everything out perfectly. When my MBP was in for repairs I got a Chromebook, signed in to Spotify over the Web, and everything was there. It's perfect.

I would prefer it be a standalone app versus integrated into the music app like iTunes radio. But honestly, I would prefer that it stay off my device completely. I have nothing against beats music streaming service, but I should be the one to decide if an app is installed on my device.

This seems more like a move aimed at uneducated investors rather than having any chance to take off.

People want to pay a small fee per month to play any song whenever they want on any device as well as options for curated stations or stations based on their likes.

That's why Spotify took off and and iTunes continues to decline. Beats was never popular because its simply another Pandora which while before Spotify was the best option, now, all of these models fail. Why pay for Beats, Pandora, or iTunes Match, when I can get Spotify and have the best of both worlds. On Demand playing and curated playing.

Until Beats offers on-demand option it is destined to fail. Presumably it doesn't and won't offer that because then there would be far less profit for Apple. Spotify who does that model for instance has never made an actual profit. So maybe Apple hopes that eventually their business will collapse since it's not sustainable and then people will go to the next best thing which would presumably be Beats.

But Apple doesn't have a monopoly on the mobile marketplace. Android is far more widely used.
