I don't know what people's problem with Beats is, I own a pair of the Solo HD's and they are brilliant, very durable and the sound is great. Yea they are bass heavy but they also work great with other types of music, I listen to all different types of music and I love Beats.

People haven't actually used Beats they are just pilling on because subconsciously its a way for them to hate minorities without being direct about it. If Dr. Dre had no involvement with these head phones people would be talking about how great they are because of all the bass.

The tech world has become more overt in it's racist undertones. That's largely because black people have not been involved in the tech revolution as much as other minorities have.

I know this has been said several times already, but I'd rather not now hear about the release of every Beats product.

Call me crazy, but why is it necessary to spend hundreds of dollars for headphones? When did this become the trend? I get it that people want a quality listening experience, but the sheer number of these headphones on the market makes me wonder when this all happened.

If you had told me five years ago about a pair of $200 headphones, I would have said "good luck selling those," but it seems they're all over the place now, so apparently people buy them.

As for me, I'm quite content with my Apple earbuds, thank you. :)

LOL, I have seen people go crazy for them when they hit $699, considered a good price by audio enthusiasts.

So they'll change the look and sound of the products?

Why?

Isn't one of the ideas behind buying a company so you can acquire what made them "special" in the first place?

Out of all the things I didn't like about the brand, the appearance was something I actually didn't have a problem with...

Man, Apple didn't have anything to do with the new Beats Solo2. In fact, it most likely will be a year before Apple will even bother making any real changes. It can only be better if Apple makes changes. It certainly can't be worse. The Beats break easily and their sound is marginally abysmal at best. To each his own but I don't like the way the Beats look. They are more appealing to kids....and mostly because the celebs and sports stars wear them.

Uh they already made the studios to look like this. They've obviously been working on it for a long time. Why would they want to not change anything since they're being acquired?

So are we going to have news posts about these crappy products all time now that Apple have bought them?

As the article mentions, future products are going to be "Apple" products - crappy or otherwise.

That's literally all they've had going for them for years.

That and the nice bass. I love bass in my headphones. I actually avoided beats because of the reviews. Now that I know they are heavy on the base, I will certainly pick up a pair.

I like bass. I hate trebbly sounding iPhone earbuds and other audio equipment. I want to hear the lows and the highs. The trebble tends to down out the base and I hate that!

Great

So now instead of just hearing "thump thump thump thump thump thump..." you might hear "thump thump thump fake hand clap thump thump thump fake hand clap..."

So now its beatsrumors too? I think its getting to be that time where I start going to a different site, this one has turned into a running joke with no real news. No mention on this site of the Apple devices being taken for ransom via "Find my iPhone", I guess thats too much of a real story when we can gossip about crappy headphones.

Can I get Sir Ivy telling me that these are the biggest thing to happen to Beats Solo since the original Beats Solo? This changes everything.
"We took a look at the sound spectrum of the headphones and decided to start from the ground up. We elongated the sound spectrum so that it covers more. Now you hear more clarity, more detail, than ever before. It is truly remarkable."

Yes, I realize Apple had nothing to do with the development of these cans. :p

I'm outta here!

Well then prepare for the bass in Beats to drown out almost all treble highs and mids. Its like just having a subwoofer in a car, with a 1000w amp.

My god would people STOP whining about "BeatsRumors"? Every time something is talked about that is RELEVANT and INTERESTING (to me), every single comment is a huge complaint. It happened, it relates to Apple, GET OVER IT! Nobody is making you read this site if you're not happy with it, but I, for one, am.

Actually agree with this

You mean all the Samsung and MSFT rumors didn't make you run away. Darn! I guess competitors are okay but companies Apple owns is not okay to report on. maybe Apple wants the beats tech to improve the sound of their own devices. Apple's expertise isn't in head phones and music for that matter.

In all fairness, Beats is now part of Apple, so why would they not report on the new product? They will report of a new iPad announcement, for example. It just seems odd because for now, this is the first Apple acquisition that is keeping the brand separate.
Sure, these weren't developed by Apple directly. Will they in the future? Who knows. But the bottom line is, how Beats does will affect Apple's bottom line, and will affect future earnings reports beginning next year.

And I do believe they reported on the news item you mentioned, a while ago: https://www.macrumors.com/2014/05/27/hackers-locking-macs-ios-devices-australia/
And then they did a follow up article:
