Yes, that is what the problem with Beats is it is about race because you know everything is about race not about taste, you sound like those racists who always use a race card as a excuse for your failures.

So you'll just ignore all the ignorant comments about Rap/Hip Hop and Dr. Dre's past right?
Indirect racism is even worse than just coming out and saying how you really feel.

I like how you say 'your' failures. How do YOU know he's failed at anything? He could be white for all you know. You know nothing of actual racism because you choose not to know. And that's okay. Because people who are aware will speak out about it whether you like it or not. ;)

Absolutely ridiculous assumption on your part.
Tell us all why.

I see a disproportionate number of posts going on about Beats headphones deal being too hip hop and Dr Dre celebrating his success with his business....when anyone seeing that kind of success would be celebrating. Apple has spent far more money on companies who don't turn a profit and have far less synergies no one says a peep.

The comments about Dres thuggery aren't ignorant. They're fact. Just like the fact that the dood has songs that advocate murdering police officers and everything else. You think these angry rappers are writing about feely good love stories? Talk about ignorant.....

Call me crazy, but why is it necessary to spend hundreds of dollars for headphones? When did this become the trend? I get it that people want a quality listening experience, but the sheer number of these headphones on the market makes me wonder when this all happened.

If you had told me five years ago about a pair of $200 headphones, I would have said "good luck selling those," but it seems they're all over the place now, so apparently people buy them.

As for me, I'm quite content with my Apple earbuds, thank you. :)

How does it feel to listen music in such a crappy manner?

The number of people that are full of it on this thread is phenomenal.
To all you people that moan about the sound of Beats, (I don’t own a pair by the way);
1. Have you actually tried a pair?
2. Does the device you use as a source for phones have tone controls that are not set flat?

If you can’t answer yes to both of the above you’re a hypocrite.

That’s not to say that Beats actaully are good headphones, it just means be fair.
Now just remember sensitivity at low volume and also that your own hearing response isn’t flat.
I can answer. Although I'm not sure what you mean with #2, how many negatives did you mean? Most devices should be set flat, so they do not alter the sound. Unless you are playing a really horribly mixed album/song. Like Adele 19 or Imagine Dragons Night Visions.

1. Yes. Too much bass. (and if you heard bass at my house you'd know I'm not afraid of it)
2. Everything I can do (in my budget) to keep hardware from coloring the sound has been done, in every audio situation I have.

Heck, my little 24" TV setup that the kids use for Netflix and some games uses an amp (with volume control) that is known to be non-linear at low volume, which I verified, so I keep it at about 50% and adjust volume with the TV. And that setup doesn't even "matter" for what we use it for.

People tell on themselves. :D I guess that person figured we all needed a visual aid.

Beats? Heard of them, but never actually heard them. Any Good?? More of a Sennheiser guy my self!

My case in point.

You're a "Sennheiser guy" and never heard Beats. Nothing wrong with that, but I guarantee everyone in this thread who is sooooo upset probably never have even listened to a pair.

Just because it's associated with hip-hop and urban (definitely could use another word) communities people are automatically super upset.

Shame.

the new sound signature has nothing to do with Apple... at all. it is the exact same description the New Studio Beats that came out in November –*I know because I have the Wireless Studio Beats as well. Less over-emphasized bass, more pronounced mids, over all well banned sound and great build quality.

I have no doubt that they will improve further with apple but these new series sets don't sound – and aren't built – like the ones people like to hang Beats' reputation on.

Why don't we look back at your past from 20+ years ago lets see what you were doing and point out all of your mistakes then use that to make judgements about who you are now and your company....

I can't fault black people for having a beef with the police and the legal system. The legal system was used against them...slavery, jim crow, police beatings and injustice...

Lets look at what people were doing before and use that to project onto them now.... Cannot have it both ways.

Or we can just look what what the macracists (like yourself) are doing and saying now and make judgements about character and how much success you guys should be allowed to have based on that. *snicker* :D

Your beloved Steve used to be a hardcore drug addict. And I bet all the executives have something in their past they're not proud of.

And I've heard rock songs advocating cannibalism, worshipping satan, and giving props to serial killers.
YES, IGNORANT. Stop playing stupid. or I'll just assume it's not an act.

There is crap music in every genre.

I haven't read the thread. Are Beats headphones the best yet, or should I wait for a few more days? :D

Disclaimer: This is intended to be humorous.

Seriously though, be happy about this announcement. It means that Beats is willing to evolve into a brand that also makes well-rounded in eq and more subtly styled headphones. They're not so wedded to their bass and flashy styling that headphone purists won't ever be able to consider them.

You made the assumption that, because of race, people don't like this acquisition. You correlate hip-hop to race when it is just a musical style. If people express a negative opinion about Dre does that automatically mean race is a part of that opinion?

You also make the sweeping racist assertion that black people aren't as involved in developing technology. How did you come to this racist conclusion?

I don't give a crap one way or another about race.

I like bass heavy headphones. I hope they keep a bass heavy headphone option for those of us who like bass heavy headphones.

Feels great...especially knowing I can spend $200 on something more important. ;)

When I want to listen to music in a "less crappy" manner, I'll just listen to it on my stereo which has better speakers. The only times I use my headphones are when I'm on the go (running, mowing the lawn, etc.), and I hardly need an audiophile experience for that. Not everything that isn't top-quality is crap...some of us are quite content with the equipment and devices that we use on a daily basis.

(Edit) Never mind, keep your head in the sand.

Racism is not disliking one particular african american (Dr. Dre), racism is disliking all people who are african american (or hispanic, jewish, etc). I feel for the most part, 90% or more of Apple fans don't like the beats deal because of the financials and these 2 particular individuals (Iovine and Dre). If the deal brought Will.i.am or Quincy Jones to the Apple Board or the company being acquired was say Bang & Olufsen, I think Apple fans would be applauding for the most part. I hate this hyper fascistic politically correct world the media has spun where if you don't LOVE every single last jewish comedian, russian supermodel or gangster rapper then somehow you're a anti-semetic, xenophobe racist!

Whoa, now! Don't go making assumptions that we would tolerate B&O's overpriced crap!! :D

I'd rather have in-ear headphones. Over the ear ones are to big, to take to the gym. Beats knows how to market though. They have, so many people willing to pay $200+ for headphones

Yea the same people who wait in line for days just to get the "new Jordans" at $200 per pair yet buy their groceries with an EBT card.

Hey guess what? Your sweeping generalization about people who speak out against racism is exactly what your bashing the anti-racists for apparently doing.

You need to come back to reality and actually read the posts in all the threads related to this. The racial undertones are obvious. That's fine to be in denial. I'm not going to sit here and pretend this post is anything but denial.

As far as blacks in tech, the numbers don't lie. Google is a useful example...

OK, fair enough, still, you could but a $60 - $80 pair of headphones that would give you extremely better quality.

Personally, I think the B&O H6's blow away Beats, but they are expensive at $400. Give them a listen next time you visit an Apple Store. :)
