Cnet give an okay review.

Unfortunately AirPods didn't work for my ears (kept falling out) so Beats X are my next choice. However, I'm concerned about the length of the wire. It looks so long!

The product page kind of hides this (not deliberately) as it's not shown on a person so there's no reference points. However, when you look at the Cnet video with a person wearing them you can see how long the wire is. It hangs down onto his shoulders and then loops around the back.

I was hoping these would be good for running and also double up as everyday headphones. Not sure with that length of cable if they're going to bounce around too much when running. Not sure about them as everyday ones either with excessive wire length.

There's Powerbeats 3 for running but they're a bit too bulky for everyday use and look a bit weird for non-working out wearing.

I'd rather not have to buy two sets of headphones but might have to. Hopefully the wire length may not be a big issue on the Beats X.

I think they may come with the little cord minder that is adjustable at the back of the neck just like they have on the PowerBeats 3. Take a look at thePowerBeats to see what I mean.

I have the exact same use case and questions. Looking at the video, I think the thicker part of the cable stays in the right shape to wrap around your neck and the other parts of the cable are thin and are not much of a problem. So the thicker part probably bounces up and down in your neck, but I don't think it's to bad in every day use... JayBirds do this better.

This is not included. The cable is meant to just sit in your neck like that. It's also too thick for something like the Powerbeats have I think. Would have been nice though.

I think you're right about the clip. The back part of the Beats X looks slightly chunkier to accommodate it. I think the back part will be ok it's the dangle to the shoulders that bothers me a little. However, once on they might be fine.

Looking at all the promo videos and photos on the Beats site doesn't ever show a clip being used. There's nomention of it for "What's in the box?" on either Apple's or Beats' site. (Not that the Powerbeats 3 toggle is mentioned but it is shown).

I think I'll try and grab some on Friday and hopefully they'll be great.

Highly doubt there's a clip included. Beats X is just much thicker in that neck band portion. I actually don't mind not having the clip because I think it looks sort of odd on the Powerbeats 3. The only thing I'm concerned about now is whether or not having the neckband droop around my neck like that is going to get annoying when I move my head/neck or lie down.

Had a BB employee check the sku for these and it showed three surrounding stores expecting 6 each. He was not sure what that might, there is no way to order these at this point but at least there was something out there. Last time he checked there was nothing in the system for any stores.

Yeah, I mean they've been officially announced for Friday. My first stop will be the Apple Store. Then Best Buy. Then Amazon.

I have the AirPods right now...like them, but I'm thinking Beats X may be more what I'm looking for. Looking forward to trying them out.

Why I think these will be in demand is because some folks are still waiting on Airpods and they might just grab the Beats until they can get those.

anyone think we will get some reviews in today before launch? Unlike Apple to not have a slew of reviews released prior to launch.

I doubt it since we have not seen many yet so far, most would get them much sooner to review so I am not sure if Apple distributed any to them to tell the truth.

And it looks like BB is not taking any preorders for these (shipping or in store pickup), I will continue to monitor during the day. Just says "coming soon".

BBY isn't good about going live with products when they launch. The last couple times Mac has been released the website says coming soon and stores have stock.

Ready guys ?

What's your bet on the release time ? Midnight PST ?

The guy I spoke to on Apple support chat said it'd be midnight local. I didn't believe him so I asked him that if I live in the eastern time zone, could I order them online at midnight and not 3am. He said that was correct.

Still don't believe him haha.
