This is absurd.
Deeply cynical, to put a finer point on it. The cynical often project their cynicism on others. Perhaps it's a way of rationalizing their own lack of faith in their fellow human beings.
This is absurd.
Offered him a liver? We've only got one each! You mean a kidney???
Yes, he is quoted in relation to it. It says nothing about how the story originally surfaced (where does it talk about Tim bringing it all up?) or the context his quote came about.Ok again: The part of the book where that story is being told was "leaked" by Amazon. Tim Cook brings the story up, he is quoted. That part of the book was already readable online.
I had forgot that I had pre-ordered after the Gruber report; I'm all excited again about reading it!
Or instead of making your own conclusions you can just take what it says at face value, Tim spoke of it as an example of Steve being selfless.

And where does information confirming (or even mentioning) that comes from?BS, -part- of a liver wouldn't have helped him in his condition. Plus, the only guy who could confirm that lame story is Jobs who is dead and never mentioned that when he was alive.
The only one who profits from that story is Tim Cook, who somehow is exactly the one who told the story.
I guess if you suspect it it must make it true and completely reasonable for everyone else to buy into. We should all certainly base our opinions based on random suspicions of random people, as that is certainly more reasonable than, you know, actually believing something written by writers who do actual research and conduct interviews and put their reputations behind it all.Looks like I'm not the only person that sees through it or at least calls it for what it is. If anything it's an attempt to hijack what should've been just about Steve and his work for self glorification by Cook. Nothing happened and probably couldn't happen and I suspect Cook knew that before making the offer.
I just don't trust Apple any more.
HahaHaha! Poor Samsung! Wild goose chase! Haha!!! Billions of dollars wild goose chasing the "OMG, we gotta beat Apple and be first " TV thing! Hey , but seriously, I heard they're coming out with smart underwear!?? Haha
He wasn't "asked" about it, nobody knew about it and the guy who could confirm it is dead.
He didn't have to tell this story, nothing happened. He did a few tests and the procedure wouldn't have helped Jobs.
He told this story for the sole purpose of painting himself as a "great guy" and I find that to be really disgusting.
Doesn't matter who does it. It's a gross thing to do.
Well thats quite a contradiction when it comes to tv.

You're not a "good guy" if you publisize a story like that YOURSELF to show the world what a "good guy" you are.
Self promotion at its worst.
And where does information confirming (or even mentioning) that comes from?
I already said it's in the book.
Book Excerpt:
One afternoon, Cook left the house feeling so upset that he had his own blood tested. He found out that he, like Steve, had a rare blood type, and guessed that it might be the same. He started doing research, and learned that it is possible to transfer a portion of a living persons liver to someone in need of a transplant. About 6,000 living-donor transplants are performed every year in the United States, and the rate of success for both donor and recipient is high. The liver is a regenerative organ. The portion transplanted into the recipient will grow to a functional size, and the portion of the liver that the donor gives up will also grow back.
This is such a terrible thing to read. I can't believe there are people who are so full of hate that they'd convince themselves there's no such thing as compassion in this world.

If you can read, it does not say that Cook leaked the information.
What a hero, he researched all on his own, OMG he's so great. If that's not self promotion I don't know what is.
Your conclusion says more about you than it does about Tim Cook.
