Elbow

I went to see Elbow last night, at Nottingham's Rock City. It was a top gig; sounds was great, the crowd were awesome, and the band were on better-than top form. So chuffed (and also a little hungover now)

A band called 'Two Gallants' were supporting. Kinda like Kings Of Leon meets The White Stripes.

Lovely times.

Saw 'Racoon' (a Dutch band) a few weeks back.

It was a great gig, apart from that fact that I (and the three other people that went with me) were so sick the next day from the beer we were drinking. Clearly the venue hadn't cleaned the lines in a while.

Has anyone been to see the current REM tour? I have tickets to see them in Prague in August, just wondering if it's worth looking forward too or is it "just another gig"

dunno about REM themselves, but Modest Mouse is Modest Mouse and The National, their other opener, is one of my newest fav indie bands.. absolutely FANTASTIC. i'd pay for the REM tickets just to see them honestly.

since my last post... let's see.

Saw Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, and Amos Lee in October. Saw Gogol Bordello in October, and saw Crystal Castles a couple weeks ago. All great shows.

hopefully seeing 65daysofstatic in NYC sometime this summer.. but really looking forward to Lollapalooza in August where I'll be seeing Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine, Kanye West, The National, Okkervil River, Explosions in the Sky, Broken Social Scene, Margot & the Nuclear So and So's, Battles... the list continues

I saw Saul Williams on his Niggy Tardust tour a couple of weeks ago. For an online only album that according to Trent Reznor had less than expected sales, the show was packed. I saw on Myspace the album will have a physical release this year with 7 new songs included.

Two nice tickets to Bon Jovi for May 1st in ATL
But I won't be going

Had two tickets to Sugarland a few weeks ago
Those went unused too

I saw Tori Amos back in December.

Today, there was a free concert on campus that had William Tell (from Something Corporate) and Saosin. I was coming back from somewhere off campus and caught the last song and a half from William Tell's set. Does that count?

Yesterday I went to the first day of the Festival Imperial 2008 here in Costa Rica. It rocked!!
The lineup was:

  • LePop (Costarrican pop band, they did a great show - check them out)
  • Café Tacuba
  • Babasónicos
  • Incubus
  • Smashing Pumpkins

I went to see Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds last night. Absolutely fantastic!!
I'll post more when I'm back from Paris.

Springsteen in Charlotte Sunday night was awesome! :)

He played some great older songs you don't get to hear on tour very often: Kitty' Back, Lost in the Flood, Wild Billy.

I would have Loved to see Nick Cave's first band The Birthday Part back in the day. I just saw mum a few days ago in Dallas and it was spectacular!!

Saw Bon Jovi, this past week. He puts on a really good show...... Plus it helped we had really good floor seats!

saw Bon Jovi tonight, it was a good show. did parts to some other songs also (not their songs), and i liked it. they opened up "Wanted Dead or Alive" with "Midnight Rider". i wished they would have finished Midnight Rider. i do like wanted dead or alive, but it'd be cool for them to do something different.
