I saw U2 on Saturday. Got to meet Bono and The Edge as they were entering the back gate before the concert. I saw The Edge sign a girl's U2 iPod.

I'm going to see them on April 1st at the Sydney Olympic Stadium. Should be a huge crowd, it's sold out so maybe 70,000 or more. Gonna be epic!!

They were originally only going to play one show at the Sydney Superdome but it sold out in about an hour so they put on another at Telstra Stadium. So pumped!!

I'm annoyed I missed Green Day at the Sydney Cricket Ground though, bloody work! That concert was apparently amazing.

My mom, dad and sister recently went and saw Trans-siberian Orchestra. Unfortunantly i was away at college and did not get to see them. Made me mad cause i usually enjoy that kinda stuff.

they said is was great and mom really seemed to enjoy it so i went and got her some TSO cd's for chirstmas. I think she will love them!!

I gotta say that the music is really kinda freaky. Cool...but freaky

I saw the Moody Blues at the Orpheum in Omaha (a wonderful venue, by the way) last month. Even now that Ray Thomas has retired, they're still amazing; Justin Hayward's voice continues to amaze me.

I'm just hoping that Keane will come to Omaha or Council Bluffs soon.

Saw Franz Ferdinand at the Fillmore back in September (On my birthday ;) ). They were effing fantastic! Saw Green Day earlier that week at the Pepsi Center... also freaking fantastic... and late October saw Gwen Stefani/Black Eyed Peas at the Ritchie Center. The latter was every bit as good as I'd hoped, the former even more so. :D

saw The Mars Volta a coupla weeks ago, going to see Pelican tonight. *hopefully* going to see Sigur Ros in March. i really need to go and see them, but the standing tickets sold out pretty quick :(

Thanks to them, it took me 30 minutes to park for the library in downtown Providence on Thursday, because I did NOT feel like $20 to park while I played a 45 minute concert in the library.

*dreamy sigh* I love Franz Ferdinand! I saw them December 2004 and they really do put on a great show... I missed their more recent show around here, though. :(

I'm only putting down the recent ones that I have really enjoyed:

Sufjan Stevens
Bunkbed Nights
Breathe Owl Breathe
The Snake The Cross The Crown
Broken Social Scene
The Arcade Fire

Of note, don't go see Bright Eyes or The Faint... not good (imho)

Going to show my age here but I saw "The Human League" at the Southport Theater a couple of weeks ago. They were brilliant.

Other than that I saw "The Divine Comedy" 3 times last year. Always a good show.

Trouble with being an 80's retro man is that a lot of bands don't exist any more. :(

In the last month or so:

White Stripes (awesome)

Starsailor (surprisingly good)

Xavier Rudd (Kooky but major talent).

The Stripes make a hell of a noise for only two of them :D

this year i went to:

Rolling Stones
Spin Doctors

Stones concert was spectacular and I am still amazed the spin doctors are still the original band and still cutting records (and youd think i would say that about the stones!)

The recent show was mostly betterf than the one I saw at the Bluebird in June 2004, but Alex Kapranos, the lead singer, seemed REALLY tired this time around, kept using an inhaler. Granted, the elevation here is 5,280 feet, but nonetheless :) No matter - even completey tired he and the rest of them were fantastic.

Oh! I have to amend my original list, or add to it, rather. Went and saw John Cale a while back. He was fine, I'm just not much a fan of the Velvet Underground, and prefer Rufus Wainwright's 'Hallelujah' over his. Still fun, though, to see former junkies and drug addicts all bald and aging and mostly wearing Lou Reed t-shirts with Brooks Brothers slacks.

My mother got the Family tickets for the Nobel Peace Price Consert (she works for them)
Duran Duran and Yo Yo Ma was the best of the lot.
Surprisingly, Sugababes wasn´t too bad.
Oh, and Katie Meluha did a good job. Hearing her name always put me in the mood for a White Russian:rolleyes:

saw dave matthews band for the 6th and 7th time over the summer at alpine valley (best venue ever btw) and then I saw them again at the kohl center here in madison a few weeks ago. Plus I got to see U2 in milwaukee at the end of september, it was a pretty amazing show.

The weezer/Foo Fighters concert was at the Twin Cities too, on my birthday. But I didn't get to go :( .

Oh it was hillarious! The show I went to was the last where both bands would be playing together for this tour... as such, they totally 'messed' with each other.

During one of =w='s last songs (they went on before FF), these six guys in janitorial uniforms went on stage and started dancing behind the band. They ended up stripping  to reveal man thongs and one letter per chest: W-E-E-Z-E-R. They were most definitely 'dancers' and were hired by FF. :D

Then during FF's set, they kept alluding to those dancers with obscene, non-MR, non-family friendly words. :p

havent missed a show since...well, since i was 15

depeche mode ~ november 16 in seattle [which is a gorgeous city btw]
